Terrible experience: My mum was a long time student, taking various oil painting classes. As a pensioner and wheelchair user, coming to these classes were financially a stretch but as art is her passion and generally her only social outlet she was happy to pay the fees and buy all her own paint and equipment to take the class. After enrolling on a new term and attending once, she sadly had a stroke and had to have surgery. We asked if she could roll over her tuition fee to a future date and resume her class when recovered. The school flatly refused. Even though the class was not full and it would have been easy to do so. They did the same during lockdown. This business is registered as a charity but they operate as complete sharks. They seem to be far more interested in taking your money than supporting the community.

I recently attended a photography course for beginners. Half the course was focused on how to use digital camera properly and the our half was focused on using photoshop to edit photos. The instructor was great, however the computers are very old and slow. This meant that we were severely limited on the use of photoshop to edit pictures and a great deal of time was wasted in waiting for pictures to upload and open. The computers are not fit for purpose and I emailed the Head of the school to let them know 2 weeks ago. I've yet to hear back anything form them and I see they are offering summer school courses in photography. I strongly advise anyone considering signing up, not to do so as you will end up being extremely frustrated, as all of us who did the photography course were. Until they change the computers, it is a waste of time and money.

I did two terms of botanical drawing classes with Jaco. He was very knowledgeable, inspiring and encouraging. I would definitely recommend and consider going back when I have more free time.
