I can only give a negative review here. Every time I have gone to this place I have to queue. It is the time wasting of Putney. It has a negative energy. I have never seen a smile in this place. It is inefficient, sad. I wished they could close it and someone make it a charming place.

Don't ever do your printing here - they charge £1 per double sided sheet and don't have the price list displayed. I honestly don't know how they can charge so much. Use Mail Boxes etc opposite who charge 10p per sheet. Almost every interaction I've had in this Post Office has been utterly charmless to the point of rudeness. If there was any other post office within walking distance I would use another branch.

I have been served by this post office for a year since I moved to London. No issues, no problem at all and I go there at least once/twice a week. Staff is friendly and the service is quick.

RE: Putney Post on 197 Upper Richmond Road *** Update on review: Post office has responded and is being totally defensive. It seems they are making the point that special delivery can be a good service for customers. Yes, it can be, but it is not necessary in most cases. The way to determine that is to ask the right questions and listen to customers. In the case I mentioned, the customer stated that the item wasn't of importance. Yet the man at the counter quoted the most expensive postage option. He did this without any discussion about the value or importance of the item. It is obvious what is happening here. The post office isn't redeeming its professionalism with their reply. All the reviews here on Google speak for themselves about customers' experiences at this post office. *** I am almost certain that this post office actively attempts to get customers to buy premium postage options when lower costs meet their needs perfectly. I've actually seen it happen here before, but what I saw today was just grim. I run a business, so I know the prices to ship different packages off the top of my head. Today, an old lady in front of me told the guy at the counter that she wanted to ship "just a scarf". The man behind the counter quoted her first for £7.65. She then remarked that she was surprised at that price, to which he responded with a price of £5.55 recorded. The lady said she didn't want it recorded, so he told her the price was £4.45. She then accepted that price and said that she wished she'd put it in a "large letter". They did not inform the poor lady that she could send it via second class for £3.35. At the outset, she communicated to the man behind the counter that it wasn't an important item, but he was totally dismissive and was just going through the motions. These are the services they offered her in order 1. Special Delivery 1pm - £7.65 (Used a lot by businesses for urgent next day deliveries that have to be received early in the day) 2. First Class Signed For - £5.55 (Usually next day with a signature) 3. First Class - £4.45 The customer could have paid £3.35 but was, in the first instance, quoted £7.65. Pretty rubbish I'd say. Especially when people are facing challenges with the cost of living. Why do they do this? I can't say for sure, but I know from a friend who used to work in a post office that they get some higher commission on special delivery/premium postage. I encourage everyone who's using this post office to find out current prices online (they are increasing in a few weeks) and decide on the exact service you need before you visit and to make it clear at the counter. Also, if you know of any older people who use this post office, give them a heads-up. If you look at the Google reviews for the post office, you'll also see others comment about this.

ACCORDING to the Royal Mail website, Standard Internation postage from UK into Europe should be about 3 - 5 days. Yet the counter staff ( one of the new ones ), said it would be about 10 -11 days for a small letter, so as to entice me to pay the highest price for expediated service. I refused. Also, when I greeted him initially with a "Hello, how are you?" he just ignored me, and maintained a miserable demeanor throughout our interaction. Customer Service training should be made compulsory for these staff members.
