I had a salesman ring me about adding battery storage to my solar panels. As this is something that I have been considering I agreed to a representative who just so happened to be in our area tomorrow to come and give me a quote for installing one. This evening another representative called to confirm the meeting. I did so but he insisted that my wife be present for the "presentation". When I said that she would be out he asked to change the visit to a time we were both present. When I replied that I did not understand why we both needed to be present he replied "you probably wouldn't understand about battery storage either." I cancelled the visit. Thinking that I dodged a bullet there.

I received a call from a pushy girl who told me that my installer had gone out of business. Strange really as my installer lives in the house opposite mine and I see him every day! I didn't let on. She arranged a visit from their "engineer" who claimed that I could gain a 25% increase in the payments from my Feed in Tariff. I asked my friend over the road about this and he told me that my unshaded roof would get at best a 2% increase in yield from their products, and that having 16 optimisers on my roof would only make my system less reliable. His words were "if optimisers were as good as they say, don't you think I would have them myself?" Avoid!
