Extremely difficult to get to cannot get to the pond by car, you have to park on the road and walk around the housing estate and across a farmer's field. At present, the banks are a bit overgrown and it would be wise to travel light due to the difficulty getting the the pond. The water is clear and light lines and size 20-22 fine wire hooks is a must. On my most recent visit, my bait of choice was chopped worm, pinkies and punched bread after loosing a couple of decent sized fish. The day was really warm and quite windy, but I managed to catch a few small roach around the 3-4 ounce range in the 3 hour session. The pond itself is a nice looking pond with plenty of wildlife to enjoy,it's just a shame that the pond and surrounding area has been neglected. I am very unsure whether or not any club manages this pond and I state this simply because this was my third visit and no one came to collect money and on each of my visits,I have never seen a single person. This pond could be a real gem if someone could spend a few quid sorting the surrounding area and maybe investing a few quid on restocking.all in all its a nice place to visit, but traveling light is a must at present due to the difficulty getting to the pond and this is the reason as to why I can only give a single 🌟. As mentioned this pond does have potential bu this can ONLY be achieved if someone is willing to put in the work and invest in what I personally believe to be a real gem in Castleford west Yorkshire.
