The thought of being audited can evoke trepidation for any business, especially a small one, even if one believes that they make every effort to ensure that all their affairs are in order. I guess that’s just human nature. Prior to his planned visit, Darren took the trouble to call me In advance and without exaggeration, within seconds a sense of reassurance was palpable. To add context, bizarrely and ironically, a feeling of apprehension rapidity mutated to anticipation. On the day itself, I certainly wasn’t disappointed. Aside from being informative and educational, I unexpectedly benefited from pointers on how to streamline certain processes and that some were even redundant (despite efforts cautiously to go above and beyond). In an unrelenting environment of ever increasing bureaucracy where small firms such us ourselves can spend every waking hour worrying about being continually compliant instead of focusing a living, what’s not to like about that?! Darren is professional, personable and demonstrates a human element which seems to be sadly disappearing from society. Was the experience what I was hoping for? No! It was better! I would also add that a previous visit from Ian Potter several years ago was a similarly pleasant experience. In conclusion, for anyone anxious about this process, in my opinion, it is to be encouraged…..and may leave you wanting more!

We had a remote meeting with the Compliance Auditor Darren Kitchenside who was scheduled to carry out our audit. Darren was thorough, appreciative of all the efforts we make to remain fully compliant and extremely helpful with advice. He was very personable and led the audit in a friendly and informative manner. He offered suggestions and advice where needed and quickly followed up with an easy to follow bullet pointed email checklist for us to follow up on. The audit turned out to be quite an enjoyable experience and has given our organisation confidence that we are fully compliant. Darren Kitchenside was a true gentleman whilst carrying out our review. He was extremely helpful and professional with great insights and tips to maintain professional standards across all areas of our business. He was super efficient in getting the answers the very next day (the pre-report was issued the very same evening). We recently had our audit with Darren Kitchenside. He was personable and friendly and made what can be a difficult experience fairly enjoyable. During the audit, Darren was very thorough' whilst appreciative of the efforts we had made to remain fully compliant. The audit took less than 2 hours but we had sent him some documents to review before the audit and to focus on any non-compliance issues. Darren offered good advice in several key areas where we could do better. The final report was sent within 2 weeks of the audit with a few points to check and with some helpful advice regarding our upcoming Accountants Report; which I found helpful as we had recently changed our Company entity. All in all, a very positive experience and not one to fret over or worry about. Many thanks indeed.
