It was my first baby and i had a horrible horrible midwife (FIDAH COKER) . We over heard her on the phone complaining about being given a parking ticket. I think that's why she was in such a horrible mood but at the same time no woman in labour deserve to be treated that way. My husband is a very friendly guy who tried to cheer her up by starting a conversation. He was like do you have any kids and she rudely answered him concentrate on having your baby ok. I had a failed epidural and i was in a lot of pain but she told me that its normal the pain does not go away completely. And since i was having a girl it would be nice to tell her what women go through. During her shift she only checked me once and i was really afraid of asking her how far i was . As i didn't want to make her more angry than she was already. fearing her hurting my unborn baby. The midwife who came to take over during her lunch break is the one told me i shouldn't be in such pain and she was so sweet and kind that she made sure my epidural is fixed. Thank God i gave birth to my baby when she had just left and i had the most amazing midwife. I was so afraid of her touching my baby the whole time i was in labour. Every mother should feel they are in the right hands during labour. Unfortunately I gave birth to my baby with a swelling at the back of her head and it was not reported in the red book. Now my baby is tiptoeing on her left leg and everywhere i go am asked if i had a problem during labour. Every time i mention the swelling at the back of the head i am asked why its not in the red book. Apart from Coker fidah the rest of the staff were amazingly so good.
