This place should be closed down Not fit for purpose I reported them twice to CQC but got nowhere. The word empathy doesn’t exist in their vocabulary Left for hours waiting to be changed Starved food left on table as my sister not able to feed herself Even when my sister was near to end the staff didn’t want me ringing to get update I got told off for phoning Take my advice if you have someone who is I’ll don’t even consider putting them in this establishment Nurse M only interested in saving her own reputation and blaming other people for mistakes made on her watch My sister treated with so much disrespect I could write a book It has taken me so long to get over the distress mainly because of lack of care my sister received and caring assistants mainly to blame There was a male nurse who was amazing but he only came in few weeks before she died just turned 60 Don’t consider this place as you will regret ut

Surprised by the bad reviews on here - I visit someone cared for in this home every two weeks and I only ever encounter kind and thoughtful staff. They provide a variety of things to do and enjoy - they had a belly dancer the other week! They have regular music and singing sessions, gardening, film club etc.

Our first visit to this establishment, although staff pleasant, there are concerns about patient welfare. Our friend wanted to go to the toilet but was told that she would have to wait as they were busy serving lunch. No one was available! I finally found someone who I asked to speak to someone in charge . They indicated they were incharge and after being told the same thing , I said not acceptable, then he told he will try and find someone. Four people came and finally helped her go to the toilet. Our friend was positioned in a chair not near any buzzer if she needed help. How does a person call for help ? No fan in the room it was sweltering .We arrived and asked to take our friend in the garden no wheelchair came , no visit to the garden happened , although request . Our first impressions left us worried about her care when were not there,

My mother has been at Priscilla Wakefield House since mid 2019 after a stay in hospital due to a fall. The home has been somewhere safe and supportive for her to be as she struggles to care for herself. The care team have made sure she is comfortable and this has allowed her to recover well from the challenges she has faced in the last few years. The home always has something going on for the residents. The events are either on site or out at other local venues that my mother is familiar with in the area. I really think my mother has benefitted from the caring team and the bright and lively atmosphere at Priscilla Wakefield and cannot praise them highly enough.

My dad was sent here following a spell in hospital, after fall at home due to his dementia. He was there only 3 days, had 2 falls in that time, and ended up back in hospital as a result. Avoid this place like the plague if you can, although unfortunately my poor dad can't. :-(
