My Dad moved into priory gardens this year and what a absolutely fantastic home , all the staff are caring and really friendly, I wasn’t sure how Dad would settle having to leave his home of 80 years but the staff have been wonderful with him , he looks younger than when he went in, he as regained his pride and looks smart again, and his health as definitely improved. The staff have encouraged him to socialise again which is great because Dad is a friendly man who enjoys the company of others. The home makes the family of it’s residents feel welcome and will telephone updates of how appointments went medical and any concerns. Priory gardens you are all exceptional ,thank you Alan

My husband's nan has been in Priory Gardens for 2.5 years. She has Vascular dementia and Alzheimers. The care she has received throughout has been excellent. The home is clean despite our nan's feeding of the birds, cats, dogs etc 😊 on a daily basis and tendency to hide food. The staff genuinely care. You can tell they know the residents and it genuinely feels like a family atmosphere. On the very rare occasions we have had any issues they are dealt with immediately and let's be honest this is a normal part of life nothing is perfect. The manager Alison is on the ball. We got regular calls throughout Covid to update the care plan and highlight any concerns. The food is good with choice and they get a lot of cakes, treats etc. We've met the kitchen staff and they take pride in what they do. (she's had amazing birthday cakes made every birthday she's had) Yes things ie clothes go walkabout but every care home/hospital has that, especially those with dementia! The staff work tirelessly and generally call bells are answered in a decent time frame. The activities are kicking back in post Covid now which is great, the staff even bring in their own pets to see those residents who may be missing their own. I was so apprehensive about care homes but we feel reassured in the knowledge she is well cared for and safe. Thankyou all at PG.

Unfortunately, my husband was placed in this abhorrent place, following discharge from hospital after a stroke in April. Priory Gardens distressed both my husband and ourselves immensely. Thankfully, he was not a dementia patient and was able to report back to us, each day, about his treatment! . No bed pan upon arrival, given someone else's. His option, apparently was to 'mess the bed!' So much for dignity. . Waiting up to 50 minutes for a bed pan. . Used bed pan pan left in room overnight. . Incorrect size of bed. . . Not following care plans, left to fall out of a chair. . Disgusting behavior and language used towards my husband by agency nurse, Steph Charlesworth. (conversation recorded and reported). . Processed food, diets not catered for. If you ever need a 'care home', do not even consider this place.
