The food is EXCEPTIONAL! I started writing this review before i’d taken my second mouthful of my burger last week. Have been coming here for years but recently ate here twice, both mid week. The food blew me away. I have a food business so am-a tough person to please. We shared the pie, the burger, the watercress soup and Mac n cheese. It was loads! Ha. But all wonderful, seasoned and cooked perfectly. Went back tonight with a pal, and had fish n chips, pie and homemade chicken Kiev! With samphire!!! Winner. Love the seasonal touches. Also in general the pub is fun relaxed and staff friendly. And you can bring dogs! You are nailing it.

Had booked a table for a special occasion roast on a Sunday afternoon (this was the weekend before the Hackney half marathon…), got given a rickety tiny table in the middle of the noisy pub with people bashing past us constantly. Pub was full of screaming children running around and scooters scattered across the floor and oblivious parents drinking and not watching them at all. Empty tables were filthy and didn’t get cleared by staff so we couldn’t move to a less busy spot, overall felt like we were in a McDonalds and food wasn’t worth the high price tag. Wouldn’t go again or recommend this place unfortunately.
