    Simple, one item order but what a palaver. Order took ages to arrive (even longer than Primrose usually take). When it finally arrived, critical parts were missing. On phoning, I was promised the parts would be sent out; nothing heard over a week later. Primrose make it especially difficult to contact them; no icon for their preferred chat, concealed phone number (but thanks to Google, available), even email is some wacky Primrose system. Must try much harder. Edit: Two weeks after first contacting Primrose, I've had 3 ineffectual responses; zero action. A poor response from Primrose. Edit 2: It took a month with much chivvying from myself, including my suggested way forward but Primrose got there in the end. Slow and tedious; not an experience to be repeated.

    The shrub I wanted was not available so I asked if they knew when they were getting it in again. After a initial automated acknowledgment I received a lovely e-mail from Meredyth saying they wouldn't be getting in it again for quite some time. Despite the disappointing news I was pleased with the e-mail as it was friendly and personal. I felt I was dealing with a person other than an android.

    I have just purchased a couple of items from Primrose and I would like to put on record the great customer service I have received twice. First I wanted to make sure of how many I needed and got the help I required within a couple of hours. Placed my order and received the goodies the next day. Unfortunately two of the items were damaged. No problem to primrose. Told the of the problem providing a photo and replacements are already on the way. You couldn’t ask for more. So great customer service big range of items and good prices. Thanks

    ***AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS***!!!!! THEY ADVERTISED A 12 LITRE MAGNOLIA TREE SUPPOSING TO BE 200CM-240CM. WHAT ARRIVED WAS A 10 LITRE DISEASED AND DYING PATHETIC EXCUSE OF A SPECIMEN. HAVING SPOKEN TO A FOREIGNER AT PRIMROSE, WHO ASKED FOR PHOTOS, WHICH I HAVE SENT. I HAVE NO HOPE WHATSOVER OF EVER RECEIVING THE CORRECT ITEM OR A REFUND. I AM £117 OUT OF POCKET.

    Ordered a apple tree arrived 4 days later without any notification. All leaves dried and shrivelled the root ball was well wrapped but the surrounding media was bone dry. Tried to contact them by phone “Offices now closed use Contact page” Very poor in this day and age. Update 9 days later and several phone calls and emails still not resolved. Received the response to my review below which shows that there is no communication between the person who posted it or the customer services team. Received an email yesterday:- “ Courtney Van Wyk (Primrose) 29 Jul 2022, 16:31 BST Good day Carl Kindly be advised that should we replace the plant I cannot confirm that it will be in a better condition if you are unhappy with keeping the plants we can arrange for collection of it and process a refund” “ I cannot confirm that it will be in a better condition” says a lot about their quality an customer Care responses.

    A very bad experience from the very start. I ordered an Evergreen Oak paying £70.97 on 11th March, requesting a gift message and delivery for 17th March as it was a 70th birthday present. I tried to ring on several occasions and email to get this confirmed. I was then told they could not add a gift message and Primrose emailed on 25th March to say that delivery could not be until late March, June or late August. The email said "I will cancel plus refund the order". I have sent a further 11 emails and they still have not refunded me and so it seems my only course of action is to report this to Trading Standards.

    Ordered 3 sets of chilli plants. Delivery for end of May. After numerous emails chasing them up finally received them today 15 July!. They arrived with stems broken and virtually dead. Absolutely shocking customer service and sales. Avoid this company

    Order placed online. Delivery was significantly late with no update from anyone especially after contacting them many times. Sales people are juniors who have no clue what is happening and have to resort to excuses which are simply not true. When delivery finally came, the nuts bolts and fixing brackets were very poor quality and we had to invest in stronger ones. I’m surprised they’re still in business.
