  Our timing chain on our Mini Countryman snapped after 50,000 miles and left me stranded with no power. As everyone has said BMW should be accountable as timing chains should last longer than 50,000 miles. After a very stressful two weeks without a vehicle, our son found Prestige German Engines and they reassured us they’d be able to rectify the problem. From start to finish the service and advice from Louis was excellent. He kept us informed with what the engine required with photos and diagnostic advice. Our Mini now drives like a brand new car. As far as we’re concerned, you will not find anybody that’s as knowledgeable with the Mini BMW engine. Perfect service. We are extremely grateful. Rich and Julie Kibble.

  This firm has been an absolute dream to deal with, in what has been a total nightmare of a situation with my car. My BMW 435d Xdrive broke down just before Christmas and dealing with BMW UK and their dealership BMW Sandal - Huddersfield has been poor to say the least. Having been told the engine has suffered catastrophic damage, I ended up removing the car from the dealership, merely because their communication was so abysmal. I investigated various engine rebuilders offering to do it cheaper, free pick up etc, however, after some digging it was clear they weren't as good as they had promised. Then I came across Steve's firm. Their reviews were awesome and it's hard to hide poor work and service in this day and age, especially with Google. After a long discussion with Steve. I made the decision to proceed. He immediately arranged for a third party to contact me to arrange collection of the vehicle and there quickly assessed the damage. The car had in fact had a previous engine rebuild before my purchase and the work was poorly carried out . Unfortunately, the engine damage was serious enough that the block was in fact scrap, the turbos were in a poor state and the work was significantly worse than everyone had hoped. However, this was all communicated clearly and via video to explain the issues. The car has come back and feels a million times better than the day I picked her up. Steve's communication and knowledge is second to none. The team is amazing. They aren't the cheapest, as Steve admits this, but the service, communication and work are awesome. I would 100% recommend Prestige German Engines to anyone thinking of using them.

  Sincere thanks to Steve and his team who were able to replace the timing chain on my beloved mini clubman. She is now back on the road and a pleasure to drive, probably more than before! Having researched several garages and getting a range of quotes we chose here following a recommendation. Fair price, first class service including collection and an excellent job all round proved we made the right choice. Thank you!

  Due to an unfortunate encounter with a bit of flood water I was in need of a new engine on my M135i. I found Prestige German Engines through a Google search and the reviews spoke for themselves. From start to finish the service has been excellent. Communication all the way through the process, findings, photos and advice. Once rebuilt, the car drives like an a dream, the engine purrs! Just about to take the car back for a service as I will do for each of them going forward. My only advice would be to be careful in who you trust to carry out such work, engine rebuilding is a minefield of cowboys and ‘have a go heroes’. I strongly advise taking it to Prestige German Engines and let the professionals deal with your car. Thanks Steve and Louis, spot on!

  Two 2011 BMW320d Touring cars requiring preventative maintenance and engine overhaul. My wife's 320d required a new turbo and we took the opportunity to have new timing chains fitted and a variety of essential components (needless to say, the clutch) changed out. Talking to the guys, Steve and Louis, it became clear that at 185,000 miles my own BMW engine also required the same overhaul (excepting the clutch, of course!). This was all managed very effectively and professionally and we now have rejuvenated cars that will run for another 100,000 miles plus. What a superb service provided in a very friendly manner. My own local garage had informed that my wife's car was terminal with a blown turbo. Clearly, it was not! Thank you very much Steve and Louis! Highly recommended. Top guys.

  I have had a timing chain failure in mini right before the new year 2023. Official BMW garage was very helpful in finding this out, but their only option was replacing the engine which is about 2/3 of the present value of the car. And from a conversation I've understood it is not what most people in the same situation do. Steve from German Prestige Engines was the first to respond during the holidays and have outlined the clear procedure of repairing the engine. I liked what I've heard at the same time being a bit uneasy with the amount of trust I had to give away without seeing the place. Fortunately, everything went very well. I am now driving my mini for a full week. The engine sounds like in its early days (the car is now 70 000 miles and 8.5 years old). What is important the repair has happened on time as agreed, and Steve has even agreed to give it back on a Sunday evening to save me a trip to his place. Compared to others the price is not the cheapest but one should consider there are so many hidden aspects in engine repair that consistency in price setting is more important than the lowest initial price you hear. And yes my car has had additional pieces broken and the price called for these was reasonable. Louis, the engineer doing my car, had sent extensive photos and videos of the problems before I had to agree on a plan of events. Thank you very much, Steve and Louis!

  Fantastic people. I rang up about a timing chain to be done. I was told about the engine and that it didn’t need doing as of yet. These could have easily ripped me off but they didn’t! Instead they freely gave me some advice about the engine in my vehicle and what to look for when the time comes. Can’t reccomend Prestige German Engines enough 👍🏻

  Steve Baker and Louis your words and deeds match, which nowadays is very rare. Just this review in words cannot express my gratitude to your excellent outstanding service. Working on my son's BMW 116d 2012 from 7/11/22 when Dean Picked it from Guildford Surrey to your Garage, you kept me posted via informative phone calls, videos, and texts on messenger and What's' App. The photos and videos were very crucial and showed the extend of damage and repairs needed. You worked on the vehicle and your workmanship in shot is "Top Notch". The car was back on the road 12/11/22. It drives so very well. Steve really takes pride in his reputation and workmanship.
