We started PMA back in Dec 2021 and it was fantastic. The instructors were 👌 had a fantastic rappor with the students and parents alike. In June 2022 Leeds West Studio closed down and the students moved to Bradford.....this is when things started slipping. Too many children on the mats for their full potential to be seen. Children at black belt level in with white belt children! Instructors not valued and started leaving....these were quality instructors. You would email in concerns to Mr Lam about numbers and how you feel now the quality has gone and it's all about quantity but assured it wasn't the case, questioning the turn over of staff (some of the black belt instructors were still at school) as you would see someone different on a weekly basis....how do they know the capabilities of each individual? More instructors leave and more children on the mats. This place now is just a money making scheme as since the team has been left short and the main man himself has had to step in he's now telling the children that the techniques they know from previous classes are actually wrong! So these instructors who were amazing have also had inadequate training!! £30 per grading they charge however for what as it's the actual instructors who grade them but as Mr Lam keeps saying in class.....it's wrong? Your not told that this is done so frequent. He also doesn't have people skills and doesn't feel the need to introduce himself or any new instructors. He will post about extra classes you can book on to or holiday camps though 👍 He's rude for a gent working with children that start so young! Our girl built her confidence and self esteem massively aswell as some great skills for self defence this was down to Mr Alan and Mr Zeshan and we value her time with them....not having them in the team doesn't give the students of PMA School a bright future in my eyes. Unfortunate that I leave this review as we joined for our daughter to go all the way but greed has stopped that for us.
