FAQ

What is your experience in caring for children and how long have you been an assistante maternelle?

We have several experienced assistantes maternelles on staff, each with varying levels of experience and qualifications. Some have been caring for children for over a decade, while others have recently entered the profession. We ensure that all staff members meet the necessary requirements and are up-to-date with current regulations.

What is your daily schedule/routine for the children in your care?

Our daily schedule varies depending on the age range of the children in our care. We provide a mix of structured and unstructured activities, including free play, outdoor play, crafts, and circle time. We also ensure that children have ample opportunity for rest and quiet time, as well as healthy snacks and meals throughout the day.

How do you handle discipline and behavior issues with the children?

We have a positive behavior management approach that emphasizes praise and encouragement for good behavior, rather than punishment. We work with parents to establish consistent rules and expectations for behavior, and communicate openly about any concerns that arise. In cases where a child is struggling with behavior issues, we work with the parents to develop a plan to address the issue together.

What is your policy for sick days/vacation time?

We have a clear policy for sick days and vacation time, which is communicated to parents in advance. If a child is sick, we ask that parents keep them at home until they are well enough to return. If a staff member is sick or on vacation, we ensure that there is adequate coverage so that children are not left unsupervised.

How do you communicate with parents about their child's daily activities and progress?

We believe that open communication with parents is key to providing high-quality care. We use a variety of methods to communicate with parents, including daily reports, parent-teacher conferences, and regular updates via email or phone. We also encourage parents to reach out to us with any questions or concerns they may have.

Can’t recommend this place enough. It has a real homely, village feel to it and we instantly felt comfortable there when we looked around it. Mandy and the team are very experienced and absolutely devoted to the children, especially preparing them with the skills they need for school. They take a genuine interest in my little boy’s development and he’s been really happy there.
