Ridiculous that you can't book any routine doctors appointments in advance. Takes an hour for them to answer the phone and most mornings they don't release any emergency appointments online & when they do its only a small handful. We were told they don't book in advance anymore as they don't know which doctors are going to turn up each day... maybe it's got so bad they can't be bothered as it seems impossible to get an appointment to see one. Even when you do get a magical appointment there's only 2 doctors that can do their job and aren't rude.

Can not get appointments, just called and held for 13 minutes to be told call back at 8am, you call at 8am and there are on average 40-50 people waiting. I am often told to come to the GP practice at 8am to make appointments (how do you do that with a job and school run)!!! I cannot get appointments for my children or myself I now pay privately where I can, but that is not sustainable. The booking system is broken at this surgery, and the community health is being failed. The medical staff are lovely if you can win the lottery and get an appointment! Just awful.

Typical of the NHS, underfunded and underperforming. Very difficult to get an appointment, archaic systems. I think it's easier to simply die - and preferable, actually - than to try to sort your health out through this practice.

Reading through the reviews reveals a mixed bag which is curious. Noted are comments re the attitude and helpfulness of the reception staff which seem to err on their being below acceptable standards. I can only assume it’s down to who you get on the day (which it shouldn’t be!) The other constant seems to be the access to seeing a doctor being poor (via the same day booking system). Having tried this week to make an appointment to see a doctor; and having just returned from a horrendous experience waiting for nearly 15 minutes at the reception desk while staff stood around talking on the other side, I can only agree that the negative opinion of service at this practice offers the more accurate reflection of how it actually is.

Need a certificate of good health so I can pay extra into my pension pot. It has to come from my GP and is literally a signature. He wants £94 non-nhs fee. Ridiculous. At any other surgery it would be £20 tops. 6 months ago my partner had a reoccurring ear ache, which he suffers from periodically and requested steroidal eardrops for. No face 2 face appt but said GP insisted he have antibiotics. 2 courses, no improvement because it wasn't bacterial. But, doctor knows best. Not. V unimpressed. Will be changing practise.

Terrible practice. There’s about two good doctors there but the rest are dismissive and rude and can’t diagnose anything. It is impossible to get an appointment in advance, I asked if I could book an appointment for in a months time and was told to call up at 8am to see an on call doctor on the day (no preference was considered). Most of the time it is impossible to get an appointment in when phoning up at 8 because you end up being 40th in line, by that time appointments are booked up. I saw two different doctors two days a part, one gave me antibiotics but one refused, there is no guidelines or procedures and the doctors just go off their personal biased opinions on medicine, leaving patients sick and having to go back to the surgery. The receptionists try and do as little work as possible. A few weeks ago I called up at 8 as told and was told that when you call up at 8 you can only speak to a doctor on the phone. Yet, today I was offered a face to face appointment straight away? They say what they want to say to get you off the phone quick enough. There is no care for patients. Receptionists also think they have the right to decline you an appointment if they do not think it is valid enough, despite people just not wanting to say what problem is out loud in the waiting area.

The staff are very polite and understandably under great pressure. The reason for my review is that the booking system just doesn’t work. I called at 8:02 and was number 48 in the call. This has happened to me on a couple of occasions and both times I have just given up.
