I visited the showroom last month as was thinking of ordering either a Macan or Cayenne to replace our RR Sport. I then spoke with a salesman two weeks ago to arrange a test drive of both a Macan and a Cayenne. I was informed that it would be a week before both were available together and that they would keep in touch. Of course, there has been no response or update via email, text or phone after 2 weeks, as I was half expecting. It appears that complacency has set in amongst some premium car dealers who are selling a product in short supply to a captive market. One wonders (a) what the new 'sales team' do all day and (b) how they would fare if they had to sell a readily available product in a competitive market. Perhaps their main priority is to sell finance deals and to encourage customers configuring online to add certain extras that will be of more benefit to the dealer when the car is returned after a PCP contract I will try the Bristol or Swindon OPC and if the attitude is similar then I will probably just buy an approved used BMW X5 as I know what it drives like and because used sales teams tend to be more proactive.
