I feel I need to express how a visit to your garden centre, that was to be a positive experience for myself and my daughter, turned in to a day that caused great upset. She has an assistance dog, as she, requires him to keep her calm, due to medical, mental health reasons. We are aware you cannot take your dog in general. Read the notice that is displayed before going in. Entered, because he is an assistance dog. We had not gone far, when asked was he an assistance dog. He is a small dog that was being held by my adult daughter. We responded yes. We were then asked again, a little further around. This made us both feel very uncomfortable. We were going to sit outside the restaurant and have a meal, but just took our items to the till, just wanting to go. We were paying, when another member of staff, on the next till, said in s loud voice, to us just a reminder next time you cannot bring dogs in. By this time, I was very unhappy with how, we had been spoken with. I informed her he was an assistance dog. That we had read the notice. This then led to more words from both sides. My point to this is my daughter struggles, as it is to venture out. She chose not to wear a sign, advising the fact, she has health issues that you cannot see, and by law does not have to. If she was blind or had lost a limb, she would not have been, questioned. We were told that it was company policy to ask. If this is so you need to train you team members to do this in a sensitive way. Or trust you customers, on reading the signs, not to have to be questioned. I have purchased, may things from your nursery. Visited for meals taken, my Grandchildren there, for the train. My daughter was visiting. I took her to your nursery, as it was not far from where I live, and it was an ok journey she could cope with. But it turned in to a horrible experience, to a place where, team members have no Empathy, and it is expectable to discriminate against people, who do not visible show a disability.
