This place is a total joke and people working there need get some proper training how to work in public places. Came today to recycle cardboard boxes. Just because my car have roof box on the roof it was few inches to high for hight restriction barrier. Fair enough. I thought just to park on the side (not obstructing anyone) and walk in to put stuff in designated places. Been stoped by a rude man, saying if my car can’t fit under the barriers I can’t use this place. Explained to him, it’s not a van, it’s not a commercial vehicle, it is only because roof box. He said rules are rules and advised me to take off the roof box. Get car in. Throw my cardboard boxes in. Get out and put back roof box on my car. It was 20m between car and a skip !!! Can’t be more ridiculous, can it be ? No sense at all and no explanation whatsoever provided by this “gentleman”. We asked if there is a pedestrian access and yes there is. Ok, so I’ve moved my car to other street. Parked in parking space and we decided to carry everything on the foot. Been basically jumped on at pedestrians gate shouted we can’t get ours stuff in because they seen us coming in the car so we are NOT PEDESTRIANS!!! There was already 3 employees of Glasgow City Council with proper attitude showing their “power” to stop us recycle some cardboard. Been threatened they going to call police and record my number plates so I can get fine for fly tipping?! What we wanted is to put stuff in designated places, and been stopped by some people what were acting like they were waiting all day just for somebody to start a nonsense fight with. I’m hoping all their cameras recording audio as well, so maybe some management will look at that situation. Hope they will hear clear and well when one women employee after arguing with me threatened me of smashing my head :) Great effort and work for the planet hiring people like this Glasgow City Council !

my son went to dump a dishwasher after work tonight between 18:00 - 19:00. He hired a van with a driver. When he arrived at Polmadie recycling, IT WAS SHUT! So he had to unload the dishwasher from the van when he returned home and will have to rehire the van and upload again. How the Council expects people to recycle if opening of the site is unpredictable???
