We had an urgent need to have a structural survey on a property we were in the process of buying near Guildford. This was an apartment in a large country house, a Grade II listed building dating from the 1700's with additions in the 1800's. A valuation surveyor's report had called into question a number of 'cracks' to the rear of the property. Simon responded very quickly, identifying the type of report we needed to address the valuation surveyor's concerns (a General Movement Report). Simon even liaised with us while he was on holiday so that he was ready to conduct the structural inspection as soon as he returned. He produced the report overnight so that we had it the very next day. The report was very clear, with full details of the 'crack' (not a crack, an expansion joint), estimated cost of repair and a very clear unambiguous response to the valuation surveyor's concerns. The report was exactly what we needed, very professional, very authoritative and very clear. The valuation surveyor was fully satisfied by this and we received our mortgage offer the next day. Simon really knows what he's talking about when it comes to structural movement. In addition, the overall service from Pole Structural Engineers was extremely professional and responsive. Strongly recommend.

Given his experience working with properties like ours (quite old), he was able to explain very clearly the issues and advise on two possible courses of action. The comprehensive report itself arrived a few days later. The process was quick and efficient, and has given me piece of mind and a clear path forward. This firm provided a great service and i would highly recommend.

We used Pole Structural Engineers as we had concerns about a property we were buying. After some research, including thoroughly searching through the IstructE website, I found a number of structural engineers in the area. However, out of the shortlist, it was clear Pole was above everyone else. Judith was patient and explained the services in great detail. Already this stood out in comparison to others. Simon called me immediately after the visit to discuss the findings and the report was sent to me within 24 hours. I will note that Pole are not the cheapest structural engineers I came across, however, as someone who’s completely new to structural concerns and structural engineer services, when you’re making a huge decision such as buying a house, there are multiple factors that are equally important, including re-assurance that the service would give us the answer we need, and certainty of the conclusion of the report, which Pole delivered exceptionally on. I’m really pleased with Pole and will definitely keep a hold of their details for the future.
