Used to be a really great school but since this school got sponsored and no longer needed students to stay open they started caring only about pleasing the sponsors and stopped caring about the children who needed extra help or an extra kick. all this school cares about is gcse passes and their own reputation not about the kids and what the kids actually want to do in their life its a school to make factory workers.

This school mainly the head teacher, does not care about the children only the stats. Children who have worked hard for years had their GCSEs scrapped due to covid restrictions welcomed by teachers - then when those very same children returned for their A levels nothing was done to enhance or add to there experience. Most schools have proms or trips away with year groups- duke of Edinburgh award schemes, not plympton academy. They even changed the science GCSE to a double rather than triple in the middle of their year group in order to get better stats results at GCSE- rather than wait till that year had finished their exams. When challenged the head teacher treats you as a nuisance! The last few years of a levels for these kids has mostly been supply teachers or teachers from different subjects covering - and covid is a great excuse - but does not account for the absolute absenteeism of the head who supposedly teaches Maths! If you want your child to have a great secondary school experience with more than just turning up to a mandatory institution- don’t send them to Plympton Academy.

Only use supply teachers and the one my daughter had was touched up by a supply called mr staddom. Basically only use supply. Extremely strict not even aloud to wear CLEAR vasiline. Dont have any freedom in speech, if you open your mouth to give ur opinion you get secluded or detention. They cared more about weather my daughter was wearing make up or her skirt was above knee length or she had her nails painted than when she was being extremely bullied to the extend I had to to take her out of school because she was being threatened by older boys. Please do not send your child to this school

Not the best school. They mostly use sub teachers for subjects they are unqualified for, it is not the safest during the pandemic due to low safeguarding measures .

absolute shambles dont send your child here unless your child is a straight A student who doesnt need any support. work not finished in class homework (no support given to student during class) running late on work or behind the class after school detentions without informing the parents unless its over a hour long. student doesnt have food for break or lunch and in detention for those two breaks yup unless the teacher love your child he aint getting any food for break or lunch.
