    Very poor experience. We booked a place in Cape Town over Plum Guide and were heavily disappointed by the service and support received. We booked an apartment with a swimming pool. However, when we arrived at the rental apartment the concierge told us that the pool was closed due to renovation. At no point throughout the communication prior to our stay did Plum Guide mention any renovations. In fact, the description of the apartment still promotes "a shared swimming pool - the best way to cool off after a day in the South African sun." Instead of a pool we are now doomed to enjoy the sounds of construction every day from 9-5. Any attempt to get in touch with Plum Guide proved unsuccessful.

    This site lists holiday apartments and looked great but I spent nearly a week trying to book two places in Edinburgh on their site. The first place never bothered to confirm my booking, just left me hanging and the plumguide people apparently couldn’t help. The place is still showing on their site even after numerous hone calls and an hour on their chat line. I then tried a different property, confirmed with the staff at Plumguide that this was an actually property and the price wax correct / it was available- all yes. I booked it and then got a terse email from the property owner saying they wanted more money from me. It’s a complete scam and I’ve now decided not to use Plumguide going forward, a waist of my time and properties that seem to be more wishful thinking. Very poor

    Very disappointed with 'Plum' experience. After many many hours of searching I finally settled on a property in the 'Plum' portfolio. Unfortunately, within 5 hours of booking and transfer of my money - in full as payment, over 12 weeks before the check in date, the booking was summarily cancelled by the host - so I have been told. I was offered a 5% discount on my next booking with 'Plum'. The web site says "Total Reassurance In the very rare event your host cancels 48 hours after your booking, we will find you a new Plum home up to 20% more expensive than the original. Within 5 days of check-in, it’s up to 50%. Seemed to me that the wording is a little vague. Have contacted the organisation and they agreed that it is not completely clear, but basically said 'too bad. We are investigating the host.' I see that the apartment is again available for the dates I selected but the price has increased by about $200AUD per night. Any other business has to honour the advertised price.
