i haven't visited alfies antiques for a very long time but some you forget that the rude lady on the counter gives a bad attitude to the rest the many traders, without them alfies would would'nt be trading. so give a thought for the other traders and when you leave give that rude lady a piece of your mind.... oh by the way if it was a rocking chair then you be able to tell by looking at the base. maybe shes like me and cant handle stupidity.

Visited this store with the intention to buy a new armchair with my Jamaican friend. Within the first 10 seconds of being in the store we heard 'can I help you with that lamp?' shouted across the store with a scolding look from a woman who had all the charm of headmistress with a Methamphetamine dependancy. My friend enquired about a piece of furniture 'hi is this a rocking chair?' 'no its not' she bluntly replied with a look on your face you'd give someone who was kicking your child. At this point we got the hint and left. This experience had all the hallmarks of casual outright racism but judging from the other reviews, it seems like she was just as horrible and rude to everyone else. So who knows?

The guy manning the shop was extremely rude and unwelcoming. He refused to let us visit the top section of the shop without us specifying exactly what we were looking for. This is one place I will not come back again!

I was going to write a review anyway, but when I saw the review below, my decision was solidified. I too had an encounter with the woman who owned the shop. She was so rude to me that I was genuinely stunned. I could not believe that someone running a business would speak to customers with such an aggressive, derogatory tone. Her manner is completely unjustified, of course, not least because the stock is ultimately worthless junk that absolutely isn't 'vintage' or 'antique' and can be found across many other furniture stores across Camden. The woman needs to adjust her disgusting attitude and get some decent items in this overpriced-what I can only call-junkyard.
