We take our p.a.t. dog to visit every week. Never has there been a more worthwhile voluntary job.

My first time having to experience a loved one needing to go into a hospice so the whole situation was new to me. First impressions when you drive into the grounds are of how nice the building looks and how well kept the place is inside and out. Not going to lie, my nerves set in before we walked in because I didn't know what to expect but we were greeted by the very friendly staff who quickly put me at ease. They explained what was going on, how my family member was doing and what to expect when we walk into the room then they showed us to the room. Walking in you could tell the staff cared about their patients and it showed by how my family member had been looked after and you could see they had been made to feel as comfortable as possible. The situation wasn't the easiest to be in but it put me at ease knowing my family member was in the best possible place, there is no doubt in my mind that they will be receiving the best care which is all you want for your family if they need that sort of care. All I can say is thank you!

I will always support the Pilgrims Hospice because they are such caring and wonderful people. Quite a few years ago my Father had cancer and was admitted to the hospice, he was made very comfortable and they gave him absolutely anything he wanted as the outcome unfortunately was going to be his demise. I cannot find anything bad to say about this place or the staff. Very friendly and helpful people that make the experience of being in a hospice much more acceptable and not a place of misery. Thank you so much for looking after my Father and making his last days as comfortable as possible. You are amazing people and I would like to say more but there is nothing more to say. A big thank you from me and my family.

I can’t rate this amazing hospice and the caring wonderful people that work there highly enough. Everyone one was so supportive to all our family, and the tender loving care for my dad Ron was exceptional. We thank you so much. You made the last days for him and us so much more bearable, as he passed peacefully away in your care. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. From all the family of Ronald Howes. 🌹

I can't fault this hospice. I've had family and friends benefit from the care and attention, end of life care for over 30 years. I've worked as a volunteer, I've donated and sponsored charity events. Latterly I have been privileged to accompany my PETS as THERAPY doggie round the wards where he has provided joy to very sick people, and stress relief to relatives and nurses. Always clean, always quiet, always kind. Thoughtfulness to me when I lost my dog, and enthusiasm and encouragement when I inducted another therapy dog. 5 stars plus is the going rate. If only the government would give credit where credit is due and sponsor finances for this essential service.
