We used Pickfords before with good experience so we asked them for a new quotation for our latest move. The quotation is quite a bit higher than other companies so I called to see if there could be a reduction. They were friendly but unfortunately the result is not a reduction but a £400+ increase in the quoted price, which is almost comical. They could at least have honored the original quotation? Guess Pickfords is not what it used to be and we are very disappointed.

Are you looking for a mover which will deliver your belongings safely? Unfortunately, I entrusted our move to Pickford's Newcastle and they delivered someone else's furniture instead of some of our belongings. Mistakes happen, but Pickford's premium price was no indication of their ability or willingness to resolve the problem. One year on, too many emails and phone calls later and we still have someone else's furniture. If you’re considering which firm to entrust with your move consider their track record of resolving when things go wrong. I will never use Pickford's again.

mostly good but beware check things carfully before you sign that you have receved everything i signded the form only to find 3 weeks later that a large victorian mirrow belonging to my grandmother was not there they have lost it and i canot claim as you only have 7 days to make a claim the mirrow is ireplacable i am so sad it has gone Services: Local moving, Moving-related packing

I’m sorry to say that I had a really bad experience with Pickfords. I thought I was paying for peace of mind and a professional service and I got neither. The complaints process has been equally unhelpful. Be advised that they are allowed to subcontract their work and there’s no guarantee that the crew you get will have been sufficiently briefed or trained. In my experience the service fell far short of what was promised. Service: In-state moving
