The tour is really well put together, varied and interesting, and (unlike many tourist attractions) you do actually feel that you are getting your money's worth. This was a really great way to spend the afternoon. Our guide, Charlie, was engaging and friendly, and took us through the history of chocolate in York. The stops on the tour were all excellently presented, one particular highlight being the picture-frame room. We got samples throughout, all within context, making this great value for money.

I highly recommend this experience if you like chocolate and have an hour to spare whilst you are in the charming city of York. Like a much more grounded version of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory with a hint of Jurassic Park (no, seriously), this tour has a wonderful sense of whimsy and levity as well as giving you a great insight into the history of chocolate. Our guide Lee was very knowledgeable and entertaining and he knew how to answer any question that came his way. Crucially, he was very funny too. We were only a group of seven adults so maybe that helped our experience, but it really was fun. Plus, you do get a whole bunch of free samples and we got to make our own chocolate lollipops; which were bloody tasty. So, yeah, if you like chocolate, this is for you. It's fun. Plus, trust me on that Jurassic Park reference. If "Hello John" means anything to you, you'll know what I mean.

We had a fun tour! The tour guide was informative and entertaining. The best part in my opinion was trying the flavour of chocolate at different stages of the chocolate making process. I bought several vegan (dairy free) chocolates and they were delicious.
