    Myself and three family members took part in the Vegetarian Cookery Course today at Philleigh Way School, led by Rupert. From arriving to leaving, the whole day was a five star experience. The atmosphere was warm and friendly, and the course itself was the perfect ratio of learning to chatting and relaxing. We learnt to make a range of dishes from different cuisines that did not use meat substitutes, but instead showed us inventive and delicious ways to work with a range of vegetables and pulses. Rupert’s teaching style was perfect - fun, informal and packed with lots of tips and tricks. We were a mixed ability group and it catered perfectly to everyone’s needs. Everything was taken care of and it was a real treat to cook in a lovely kitchen space. We had the perfect amount of breaks (accompanied by delicious brownies, food we or Rupert had made and great coffee) which meant lots of time to talk, ask questions and enjoy the day. I would highly recommend Philleigh Way to food enthusiasts of any level. You will go home with a head full of new ideas and a fridge full of delicious treats!

    I love to cook but didn't really know what I was doing. I received the beginning cooking course as a birthday present and it was an amazing and inspiring experience. Rupert Cooper made me feel welcomed the moment I walked in. He was professional but incredibly down to earth and made the entire day both entertaining and informative. The cooking school building is impressive and quaint. You genuinely feel like you are on a cooking show. The lunch I had was the chicken dish that I cooked and thanks to his direction it tasted amazing. There is literally nothing I could fault. It doesn't matter if you are a good cook or not, it is a fantastic experience and I am looking forward to booking my next course :)

    I took part in the Cornwall in a Day course, which was simply brilliant from seeing Debbie's smiling face all the way through Rupert's expert guidance to many happy, full faces by the end of the day. I have learned skills and recipes I will go on to use regularly, and won't hesitate to (hopefully!) experience more in the way of feast days and future courses. Thank you!

    My wife and I had a lovely time today at the cookery school - We did the Cornish pasty and Scones course. Rupert who instructed the course was very welcoming and was very knowledgable - I couldn't believe he's not been doing this all his life. I would recommend this experience to anyone! I can't wait to visit the area again and line up another course - I'd love to do one of the outdoor lessons.

    A really enjoyable way to learn new dishes and cooking techniques. My husband and I completed a half-day vegan course and had a brilliant experience. Rupert was professional, engaging and generous in sharing his extensive knowledge. The 'show, taste then do' style worked really well and enabled us to ask loads of questions and pick up hints and tips along the way. I was amazed at how much flavour we managed to pack into seemingly straightforward recipes that contained no unusual ingredients, I definitely learnt a few fundamentals about elevating depth of flavour. The session was informal and friendly but professional throughout and the cooking environment had everything we could possibly need, it was a pleasure to cook in. We had our 6yr old daughter with us and Rupert went above and beyond to also make her feel welcome. Highly recommend the school and look forward to doing more courses. Worth every penny.
