This is a two part review: One Day Coaching: This was a well presented training day with a much different approach to normal events I have attended. As I come from a coaching background it was refreshing to see PH Sports adopting a more client centered approach. I especially liked the session where we were encouraged to find a completely new way of hitting the ball. So much was explained in more simply terms that didn't confuse us because ultimately we were coming up with the answers. They even supplied food, drinks, biscuits, croissants, coffee on the day. Can't wait for the next event, there is definitely demand for more regular events throughout the year. The second part of my review is. We are so lucky to have this little shop locally. If I ever need some balls, racket grips I can just take a short trip to the shop. Its really easy access and opens late most evenings. I've mainly used the shop for racket re-strings and accessories. But they have so much packed into the little shop its well worth a visit.

Fascinating, unique, and practical - this course made a difference to my tennis straight away, and I'll never look at my shots in the same way again. This new method is really easy, and I've never seen it before. Several completely new theories in one day - the naming of feelings as you hit the ball, the ladder of practice from controlled to chaotic environments, the idea of not having versions of a shot but a collection of different shots, the 3x3 matrix of attacking/defending vs type of shot - quite brilliant! Also, the course was really fun!

We attended their 1 day tennis workshop today and had lots of fun! There was plenty of court time, coaches are very experienced and we took away lots of useful tips! The complimentary hot lunch exceeded expectations! Will definitely attend future workshops again!

I contacted PH Sports last week, to see if they had the racquet string I was looking for in stock, and luckily, they did. I drove to the store, which incidentally is not easy to park near. Sure enough, the string was in stock, and after checking that it was what I wanted, I asked for enough string for two racquets. However, the till operator refused to sell it to me, saying that the 'company policy' was not to sell string, unless the racquet was being strung by them!! I offered to pay the full restringing cost for both racquets, in return for the string alone, but still he refused. I even wasted more of my time, by attempting to explain that it was a better deal for him to take the money in return for the string, rather than have to stand there and put the string onto the racquet before handing it over…for the same price. I failed to convince him, and I left the shop after a wasted journey, to spend my money somewhere else. This level of stupidity is truly shocking to me, and needless to say I do not recommend using a company whose policy is 'We don't like to make money'. This, in turn, leads to 'We don't care what the customer thinks', as was proven on this occasion.

I am reviewing the Shop. They string my rackets, their knowledge is good and they have been very helpful advising on my various requirements. I think the price is fair. I also bought some tennis shoes: again good advice and decent price. Support your local shop!
