Visited with my sister on Christmas Eve the place was beautiful but after about 15 minutes of been sat there we had to put out coats back on as it was freezing. The food itself was lovely though the price online didn’t match when we were given the menu it had increased by £10, none the less the food was lovely. They atmosphere wasn’t great the waitress while not particularly rude at this point just didn’t seem friendly and that made you feel uncomfortable. The worst part was when we received our bill and there were a £15 service fee added the food itself was expensive enough so to add that fee is ridiculous and when we asked for it taking of the waitress became really rude even throwing my sister bank card on the table after she paid. Probably wouldn’t go again.

Just wanted to share our experience of the Chophaus in Leeds. We had heard such good reviews, so decided to meet up (3 friends) for a Christmas catch-up. What an absolute disaster of an evening!! There was no lightning leading along the walk way to the restaurant & masses of wet soggy leaves outside, (very unsafe underfoot) I slipped on the wet leaves & banged my knee badly on the steps (Still swollen 5 days later) I spoke to a member of staff, who apologised & offered a glass of prosecco. We were shown to our table & everything seemed fine, staff seemed polite & friendly. A couple of large parties in but not massively busy. Orders taken (2nd choices as 1st choices not available) No starters ordered, then waited approx 45 mins, no food, spoke to waitress, who said she would enquire. Didn't come back to take & avoided all eye contact with us. Spoke to another waitress about 15 mins later, she did return & said the manager would come to serve our food & speak to us. Our food was eventually served 2 hours after arriving, (about 1hr 15mins after order placed.) The manager apologised & explained the kitchen was short staffed & it was their fault not hers! Not what we expected to hear. Don't pass the buck, speak to the customer & let them know service is slow. It only takes a few minutes & polite conversation to explain a slow service. These things can happen in the best if places. But it all depends if how the situation us dealt with. It was the total lack of customer care that disappointed us. The Chataeubriand WAS tasty! Whether we will return is questionable!

Great service (you should be paying your staff more!) but the food was ridiculously expensive and not great quality. The roasts are alright but no different to what you’d get at any gastropub in Leeds (but for more money) and as mentioned before - takeaway boxes aren’t much of an investment for a massive restaurant! having my leftover food very delicately wrapped in cling film afterward was a mildly strange experience.

Terrible. Steak over cooked. Customer service is appalling. Made a special request over the phone, was assured it could be done (birthday request) and nothing at all. Dirty tables next to use that hadnt been cleaned throughout the whole time we were there. Asked for my food to be packed and was given it in foil wrapped in cling film; though it was a pass the parcel gift wrapped in foil! Then asked for a bag and they apparently didnt have any. Asked for the bill and was waiting for at least 15mins. No apology even after I’d voice my dissatisfaction with 2 members of staff. Nothing special whatsoever. Don’t waste your time eating here. Not going back. Hang your heads in shame Chophaus!
