SCARY DECLINE AND FALL It has been profoundly depressing living through the decline of these once lovely stables. Anyone who is reading this review will not find it an exaggeration if I say that the decision to own and care for a horse ranks up there with the great life choices particularly if you live in London- even more profound in some ways than having a child. So you really need to trust the people who look after the creature Regrettably this is not possible at Petersham due to staff inexperience and lack of integrity. So if you have anything other than an old, native breed - don’t go there. The staff is a couple of 20 year olds, unmanaged by a lady who works full time elsewhere leaving the 12 animals there vulnerable to abuse. I attach some screenshots (no soap, filthy towels, dirty sinks&toilets) of a video uploaded to the google page (click on 'see photos' above) showing the hygiene standards they apply to the humans who can actually complain. There is also a video of me lungeing my horse in the pouring rain and pitch black as well as freezing cold, due to the alleged colic which the staff due to inexperience alleged. Another story to follow.

I left a review of Petersham Farm Stables a few years ago, when it was under different management. I have since had a much worse experience there. The standards are now shockingly low.

Easily the best stables in London - both for the quality of the buildings & facilities, as well as the staff. Lessons and training available as well. With Richmond Park literally next door the pampered ponies stabled here also enjoy hacking out on the same land that Henry VIII loved and once hunted on. Highly recommended for those who want the best for their horse(s).

Well organised stables set just outside the Richmond town centre, very close to the Petersham Nurseries. There is likely capacity available for more horses. A large paddock is adjacent to the stables. The stables are located with the secure confines of the Petersham Farm complex
