My grandfather had a very specialised watch which had become corroded and damaged, and I contacted multiple different watch repair shops across the country and was told by all of them that the refurbishment was not possible, beyond sending it back to the original manufacturer at a huge expense and lengthy lead time for an official repair. Alexandros was the only one who said he would be able to do it, which made me unsure since everyone else had told me it was not possible, but I need not have worried - upon visiting him he was incredibly professional, understanding and well spoken. He articulated clearly the steps he would undertake and kept me updated throughout the entire process. Though it did take a little bit longer than originally estimated, this was understandable due to the nature of the restore and he informed me of the reasons why along the way. Receiving the restored watch you would think it were brand new. The difference is astounding, I couldn't have imagined it could turn out so well. See before and after photos below. Most importantly, my grandfather is beyond thrilled to have his watch back. I can't recommend Perpetual time enough - if you have a special watch which needs work, this is your guy.

Rather let down….asked for a quote online which never arrived, I learnt this after I called a few days later. That’s fair enough as it happens. Was provided with 2 quotes for varying levels of work on the watch, conversing via email backwards and forwards. Stated I’d like the lower service on 2 emails and never heard back….can’t help but feel I’d have heard back if I’d have picked the higher more expensive service which included a professional polish rather than a standard. Also a little surprised by the prices given the Rolex price list on the website, either they’re out of date or they need to be updated. I presumed an explorer 1 would be as basic as a Rolex movement could be. Never mind….I’ve headed elsewhere, as they say when there is doubt there’s no doubt. Disappointing as your right on my doorstep and I’ve got 3 watches in need of a service.

My second Rolex service by Alex, the first was a 1968 5513 submariner and the latest a 2012 ladies 11620 so quite a span of time in terms of movements etc and both came back to me in perfect condition. Alex works quickly so some of the prolonged waits that other repairers suffer from (inc Rolex) are avoided and his prices are very competitive. Apart from servicing the movement Alex also gives the option to have the watch refinished and its well worth taking that up. Excellent service and quality of workmanship.

If all companies were like this the UK would be thriving. Alex replaced a chipped crystal on my Oysterquartz a new battery and polished the watch. the transformation when i saw it was fantastic. It was not until I got home and looked closer at the detailed work, the brushed finishing against the polished surfaces etc. This workmanship shows his love for watches and his great skills.The watch will be going back to the studio on the the next battery change for a full service. Living close by, I was able to take the watch in and discuss the work needed. I was kept updated throughout the process. I cannot recommend Alex high enough.
