Excellent selection and service—and as a person who worked in coffee for YEARS, the cortado indicated a skillful barista and excellent bean sourcing. Plus the machine is stunning! Thanks for a great time at Penge General :)

I’ve been shopping at Penge General Store for yonks but never got around to leaving a review. It is a lovely, stylish shop - selling freshly baked goods, nice coffee, good wines, fresh produce, lots of vegan goodies, cheese, yogurts, fresh pasta and ice-cream and lots of really high-quality store cupboard items - like hot sauces, spices, tinned fish and the like. They also sell fancy chocolates, as well as low-packaging cleaning products. The focus is on quality, artisan and independent goods so it is by no means cheap but everything I’ve ever brought from here has been very tasty indeed. Have had really friendly service from the women who work here too!

Great little shop and great for refillables but the bespectacled guy with the moustache is quite rude so that is very offputting, especially considering they're not particularly cheap. Plenty more shops out there.
