FAQ

What programs do you offer for children of different ages?

We offer programs for children ranging from 3 months to 5 years old. Our programs are designed to meet the developmental needs of each age group. We have a baby room, toddler room, and preschool room with age-appropriate activities and learning opportunities.

What are your operating hours and do you offer extended care?

Our operating hours are Monday to Friday, from 7:30 am to 6:30 pm. We offer extended care for parents who need to drop off or pick up their children outside of our regular hours. Extended care must be arranged in advance with our staff.

What is the staff to child ratio?

Our staff to child ratio meets or exceeds the requirements set by Ofsted. For children under two years old, we have a ratio of 1:3. For children aged two to three years old, we have a ratio of 1:4. For children aged three to five years old, we have a ratio of 1:8.

What are your policies on health and safety?

We take the health and safety of our children very seriously. We have policies in place to ensure the safety of children, such as regular risk assessments, fire drills, and first aid training for staff. We also have policies for illness and infection control, including exclusion periods for contagious illnesses.

What is your approach to discipline and behavior management?

We believe in positive reinforcement and promoting positive behavior. We use praise and encouragement to support good behavior, and our staff work with parents to establish consistent boundaries for children. If a child displays challenging behavior, we work with the child and their parents to come up with a plan to address the behavior. We do not use physical punishment or humiliation as a form of discipline.

How could I best describe how good this nursery is......I think my son can : I had to have something to discuss with one of the staff in the morning, when I dropped my son off. It wasn't more than 2-3 mins....but my son had his say as well "bye mummy". I was "kicked out" by my son 😊 I hope this explains enough how good the nursery is. I'm certainly happy for my son 🙂

I simply cannot recommend Crystal Day Nursery (SE26) highly enough. Both of my children have gone here from a very young age (3 months each when they stared one day a week). Being first time parents we were naturally very worried and not sure that we were doing the right thing, but we could not have been in better hands. Our first child (now ready to leave the nursery and start school) loves going to nursery, loves all the staff, the environment, fun & games that she has. It feels less like a nursery and more like a 2nd home that you drop your kids off at with 100% secure knowledge that they are safe, going to have fun and just be very well taken care off. In short, best nursery ever
