Made a genuine mistake by parking here instead of the dental practice. Followed my car sat nav and it brought us here rather than 50-60 yards further down the estate The most unpleasant staff member began harassing us when I said we were here for the dental practice. She was very aggressive and loud insisting I could not park here as it is only for care home visitors. I said I made a genuine mistake, but she continued to a tirade of intimidation I’m actually a Bupa member along with my family. Definitely going to make a formal complaint

Excellent home if you don't like /love your relative. Two occasions with my mom where the home did not spot life threatening symptoms and on both occasions mom was blue lighted in to hospital subsequently dying from the 2nd episode.

My Nan was admitted to this home august last year. Within a couple of months she had caught Covid 19 ! The communication from staff to the families is shocking. Most of the time she was left in her room with nothing but the sound of her own breathing. She hadn’t had a bath or shower since being there ! I wouldn’t send my worst enemy to this home ! My Nan has now sadly passed away.

Giving this home a one star is at a push and that is only because it is a nice modern home, unfortunately the staff are just the same as the staff in any other home. Just because they are BUPA does not mean they are any better and in my experience, I found BUPA to be far worse. I know this because both my parents have been in nursing homes. My mum , a bed bound resident was only in here for less than 7 months. During this time she contracted covid 19, aspirational pneumonia in December which was only detected by a family member when they noticed how unwell she looked on Christmas Day and questioned it then after being admitted to hospital she returned back into their care some weeks later only to contract it again in March. The home was advised to feed my Mum sitting up due to her high risk of aspiration to which this was ignored and any of our requests and concerns were never met. They never bathed her in all of the time she was resident here. Her room was very impersonal, no photos were placed upon the walls as they promised, just placed too low down on a windowsill that was covered by a thick voile curtain. When I went to visit one time, she was left facing a wall with no music or tv on bearing in mind, she cannot reposition herself. It broke my heart. Her gold ring also disappeared from her finger to which we have since been told that insurance should have been taken out against personal belongings, just so sad that somebody can take advantage of a person who cannot communicate with their illness. Sadly, my Mum passed away. Bupa, not once, contacted us after they were notified of her passing. We were, as a family, very hurt by this. When contact was finally made we were advised that her belongings were in storage for collection we were not even given the opportunity to do this OR told it was going to be done......so insensitive and we cannot even go into the home to collect them because she is no longer a resident. If you want your loved one cared for and like my Mum who was, bedbound, had Parkinsons with Dementia and could not communicate then please do NOT send them here. My Mum suffered in their hands, had a ring taken and was basically forgotten about. I want people to read this review because if I had of read this before placing my Mum into their care, she never would have gone to BUPA. They are just a name, just like my Mum was to them......nothing special.....just like my Mum was nothing special to them....she was just a number! I am so glad I work in the public domain because how they treated my Mum will go way further than my review here!
