This is a great club and I love being a member and part of a fencing community. It's great to be able to learn with people at all different abilities and ages, and the coaches are really encouraging. I highly recommend private lessons as well as the group sessions. They give you so much confidence and experience of how to become a better fencer and what to work towards. The club also arranges fun activities, parties and camps which are really great. Thomas (12)

A warm and welcoming fencing academy which focuses not only on pushing all fencers to achieve their best but also on developing the individual further to have mental resilience (including having coaches trained as mental health first aiders), good sportsmanship and to be a part of the bigger team.

There is so much more to fencing than swords! Paul Davis fencing Academy not only provides excellent fencing coaching, but coaches children in life skills and appreciating what is happening around them. During the last lockdown the transition to on line training was fast and efficient and provided the children with brilliant coaching with the ever friendly and supportive staff, this time has been no different. So impressive. Saluting the NHS supporting the local food bank respecting your co fencers and teachers. Cannot rate PDFA highly enough for their fabulous all round training, care and thoughtfulness, and it’s a brilliant sport!

My daughter has been a member of the Academy for three years and it has been absolutely brilliant for her. The Academy is a family which gives it's members of all ages (8-80 years) many life skills. The fencing coaching is of the highest in the country, with many of the world's best coaches leading the training sessions. Alongside this there is incredible pastoral and mental health support. The staff take time to understand and get to know each individual fencer. The Academy produces a fantastic atmosphere of fun, hard work, team membership, and most of all community that strives to make each individual achieve their best in all areas of sportmanship and life. It literally is my daugter's world and I can't praise the Academy highly enough.

I really enjoy going to the academy because there are lots nice people that I get to work with. It is brilliant that there are so many people that attend the regular classes that the coaches run. This helps my fencing because I learn from others how to stop and beat different tactics, as well as developing and adapting my own. The Shield of Endeavour programme has been very fun to do because it is fascinating learning life skills through fencing, like understanding empathy and importance of wellbeing. I would recommend the Academy to anyone! George Lucas, age 10

I can not recommend this academy more highly! This is a club which manages to balance providing the right environment for those fencers looking to represent their country along with those fencers who are just starting out and looking to fence for fun. Emphasis is also put on creating an environment which promotes positive mental well being and developing growth mindsets which are not only characteristics necessary for the successful fencer, but are essential skills for all young people to learn. The club went over and above what I would have expected during lockdown to keep running and to provide positivity and exercise which the kids were missing. As a parent I have found the organisation and admin side the best I have encountered in all the many clubs and activities my three children have engaged with over the years. Highly, highly recommend!
