Service slow, toilets blocked, cleanliness questionable. Won't visit again.

(Translated by Google) Nice outside, but ugly inside. The café is decent as far as the drinks are concerned, but we haven't had any like that for a long time seen dirty toilets, disgusting. Hopefully this does not allow any conclusions to be drawn about the patisserie.

Was passing through Winchester and decided to stop for some lunch. Was glad to find the cafe is a dog friendly one! Sadly that was about the only nice thing. The decor is a bit tired and the staff seemed run off their feet despite not having many customers. The avocado on toast came out as bread (not even seen the toaster) and just chunks of plain hard avocado on top. It was sent back but the rest of the breakfast was cold when it came back. The coffee eclair was very dry and stale. It's not what I remember patisserie Valerie's to be like. We also didn't get told like another customer that if we ordered via the app, we'd get 20% off. It took about an hour to get a coffee and a sandwich and breakfast.

The cappuccino was lukewarm. Eggs Benedict was more like boiled eggs as they were hard not runny. The quiche was supposed to come with fries, but had to ask for them... Only to be told that the chefs menu that he works from is different to the customer menu... Apologies were given and the fries came eventually after finishing the meal already. The cakes were delicious though. The toilets were dirty. Maybe they didn't have enough staff, but it didn't seem busy. The staff member who served us was very nice and apologetic but unfortunately the experience for the price paid was disappointing and wouldn't encourage me to visit another patisserie valerie again.

Well, I won't be going back there. Shabby, grubby interior, very slow service (and really no excuse as it was not so busy) and a very mediocre afternoon tea for two. A well meaning lady at the counter recommended Groupon to cut the list price but even at £27 never worth it. It's a tea and doughnut place masquerading as better, don't be fooled.

everyone can have an off day on occasion, but... My order was very late - 45 minutes late, we simply got forgotten about. Toasts were soggy and not really tosted. Garnish looked a few days old. Chips were reheated and disgusting. On a positive side, poached eggs were cooked to perfection, hence the extra star. Lastly, asking for a tip at the time of order, is a bit audacious and presumptuous to say the least.

Really poor. Welcomed by bellowing woman “Eating in or taking away”. Perhaps “hello” or “welcome” would be a better start. We had an afternoon tea (1 hour 45 min wait in total) with scones which were “still in the freezer” as the waitress put it. Cakes were tasty but sandwiches really bad, old and bland. No cutlery or plates were given. No explanation as to what was on the afternoon tea. Had to battle for a glass of water. Feel bad for the only floor staff woman who seemed to be doing anything but it was all really bad. Not a premium experience as it should have been. Will never return to any in this chain. Staff don’t care and product is all frozen or stale. Also no functioning toilet! Usual loos are out of order and disabled toilet doesn’t lock so couldn’t use. Not very accessible.
