Simon rebuilt and restored an old medieval Canterbury chair which I bought from Ely Cathedral many years ago. It is a wonderful job, and the old oak chair now shines with a deep lustre and has pride of place in my dining room.

I gave Simon a very old Tantalus from around 1930 that had been in the family all my life. Simon was superb from start to finish. The item was in very poor condition when i passed it over to him. Simon brought the Tantalus back to it's original look and also restored the tray that the Tantalus stood on. I could not believe the high standard of work Simon achieved and would recommend him to anyone in the future.

I bought a well-worn Victorian writing slope at auction with a view to having it restored to usable condition. It had quite a few "issues", both functional and cosmetic. I asked Simon to take a look at it and was astounded at what he managed to do. He replaced the hinges with period items, found a key for the lock, fitted a new leather skiver, and restored the finish to showroom condition. Everything now works properly and looks superb, including the secret drawers which I had no idea existed. Simon is a true craftsman and I cannot recommend him highly enough.

I asked Simon to restore my damaged table after an unfortunate accident had destroyed most of the centre piece. Incredibly, he managed to restore it, rejoin all the pieces, and even replace those that were missing. He matched the colour perfectly and hid the repair joins by what I can only conclude is arcane furniture restorer magic! My table now looks beautiful, is fully functional again, and enjoying a new lease of life. I would highly recommend Paterson Restorations to everyone!
