The room we booked (superior) was extremely cramped - it's not possible to open two suitcases in it. The bathroom was spacious, but really getting old. The toilet seat was stained when we arrived. The bathtub had some quirks - some small holes. Everything is rusted and heavily calcified. When you turn on the water, it sounds like you're drilling into the wall with a drill. Definitely not a 4-star standard for us... In addition, the room service only came after 4:30 p.m. every day - communication with the lady who wanted to clean the room was unfortunately not possible because she only spoke Spanish. In the evening someone knocks energetically again, and someone asks whether the room has already been cleaned? The hallway smelled like the carpet had been there for a century. I don't even want to start with the situation with the elevators.... Now to the staff: Apart from the very nice lady at breakfast, the service was really bad. All of the employees we dealt with were consistently rude. One evening (around 6pm) we were stopped by a gentleman (security?) and asked to show our hotel card - this gentleman was extremely rude and even blocked the way for children with his arm without explaining why... When we checked out, we were only dismissed with a "bye" - we were never asked how our stay was, nor were we wished for a nice day or something similar. Especially when you consider the very high price, I don't understand all the positive reviews at all... (Original) Das einzig positive an diesem Hotel ist seine äusserst tolle und zentrale Lage - U-Bahn (Waterloo) in wenigen Gehminuten erreichbar und auch zum London-Eye und diversen Restaurants kann man zu Fuss gehen. Das Zimmer, welches wir gebucht hatten (Superior), war extrem eng - es ist nicht möglich zwei Koffer darin aufzumachen. Das Badezimmer zwar geräumig, jedoch echt in die Jahre gekommen. Der Toilettensitz war befleckt, als wir ankamen. Die Badewanne hatte einige Macken - teilweise kleine Löcher. Alles ist verrostet und stark verkalkt. Wenn man das Wasser aufdreht klingt es so, als würde man mit einem Bohrer in die Wand bohren. Für uns auf jedenfall kein 4-Sterne Standart... Zudem kommt, dass der Roomservice jeden Tag erst nach 16.30 Uhr gekommen ist - eine Kommunikation mit der Damen, welche das Zimmer putzen wollte war leider nicht möglich, da sie nur Spanisch sprach. Abends wird dann erneut energisch geklopft, wobei jemand jeweils nachfragt, ob das Zimmer bereits geputzt wurde? Im Flur roch es, als habe der Teppich bereits ein Jahrhundert dort gelegen. Von der Situation mit den Aufzügen möchte ich gar nicht erst anfangen.... Nun zum Personal: Abgesehen von der sehr netten Dame beim Frühstück war der Service wirklich unterirdisch. Alle Mitarbeitenden, mit welchen wir zu tun hatten, waren durchgehen unfreundlich. Eines Abends (gegen 18.00 Uhr) wurden wir von einem Herren (Security?) angehalten und sollten unsere Hotelkarte vorzeigen - dieser Herr war extrem unfreundlich und hat mit seinem Arm sogar Kindern den Weg versperrt, ohne zu erklären warum... Beim Check-out wurden wir lediglich mit einem "Bye" verabschiedet - es wurde weder gefragt wie unser Aufenthalt war, noch wurde uns einer schöner Tag oder ähnliches gewünscht. Vor allem wenn man den sehr hohen Preis bedenkt, verstehe ich all die positiven Bewertungen überhaupt nicht...
