My Mum and I were hospitalised on April 30th (our first night there) due to carbon monoxide poisoning from this hotel due to a suspected boiler leak. The whole hotel was evacuated and we were blie lighted to a local hospital. Not how I had planned to spend my 3 day trip to London. Eventually got moved to a new hotel and received a refund but not an experience I want to relive. Staff should be better trained on dealing with carbon monoxide leaks/emergency situations.

Rooms: Good size, comfy bed not liking stained pillowcase. Awful view multi storey carpark 4th floor ,dirty windows, interior window frames needing of a good Sanding down .adequate shower, etc. Food & drinks: Continental breakfast well , staff absolutely clueless , no boiling water 4 tea told to use jug off the 1 coffee percolator by clueless waitress in the end asked nicely.please can I have boiling water for my tea. Food selection awful who cuts bananas in half ? For displsy all patrons staying helped each other in breakfast room quite funny, really ,limited selection of food to choose. Random people arrived, walking in and out of the kitchen, not professional ,and looking at the kitchen, the black mop propped against the wall didn't bide well . It's not worth the money there charging . Noteworthy details: Decor ok, but please take the price sticky labels off the lamps . Furniture chipped. Definitely not the 4 stars there rated . Good location .

For two days there was no hot water so we cancelled the remaining two days and moved to another hotel. The Grand Plaza is not grand and far too expensive for what it offers. Although they promised to lower the rate by 50% for the two days we had stayed there, they still emailed me with a charge on my credit card for the full rate. When I complained to Expedia, the middleman, they ceased communicating half way through the conversation.
