Fro the second time in six years I have been asked to attend Father Ron‘s place of worship in Freeman Road, Friar Park. Today my kid brother and I along with many other community members were kindly invited to join a Service of Remembrance for Loved Ones. To our surprise my brother and I upon arrival, found the outstandingly well maintained iconic church in the middle of the renowned Friar Park estate. To have a full house (Congregation). As Father Ron commenced the service, he was, as I have always found him to be on the two occasions the father and I have interacted. An amazingly jovial character, and today’s performance was exceptional. The parish of Wednesbury is going to find that in the next two years as father Rob nears his end of service days (retirement)that this majestic scholar/Priest, man of G_d. Call him what you will, he is irreplaceable. Trust me, I left Friar Park in 1986. Further, my young family and I migrated from our New Invention, Willenhall home to tropical Australia on February 12th, 2005. To date, we have no regrets. However in the eighteen years we have spent Down-under, I can sincerely say: I am yet to find a more inspiring community leader than the great Father Ron of Saint Francis. Thank you Father, your G_dly knowing demeanour is as iconic as the Church building itself. A stupendous Building in the middle of a not so inviting environment, and yet the door to love (Saint Francis church) is always open. 🙏 Shalom ☮️ Ian Lester Student
