A one sentence review does not do this outfit any justice, so apologies for the length of this piece. I live an hour and a half away from where these guys train at Membury. I looked into other closer schools, but most of them charge by the day, which, if you start to fly, you’ll soon realise that a day can be 1 hour or 10. So, to pay someone for a day when you’re at the mercy of the weather etc is nonsense. Paramotor Training charge you a one off fee for unlimited within reason, training; and with that you get to use all their gear, all the instruction and get access to all the knowledge. It was a no brainer for me. The owner and Chief Instructor is Simon. When you start talking to him, you’ll realise that this isn’t his first rodeo and that his experience in this and other forms of aviation is extensive. His instructors and helpers are first class and will guide you through everything. It can be frustrating at the start, when you are learning to handle the wing on the ground, but it is really necessary to master this bit. Sometimes the weather isn’t good enough, it’s just the way it is. Simon will only allow you to fly when it’s safe. This means that sometimes you’ll drive for hours to get there and the weather will have changed meaning flying is off. The quicker you accept this, shrug your shoulders and take it on the chin, the better. It’s just one of those things and not the club’s fault. This is NOT a sport for the impatient. All the training kit you’ll use is new and Parajet Dudek, which when you research equipment, is up there with the best. Sometimes a lot of people turn up and you have to wait your turn to use it, no big deal, but there are plenty of ground handling wings and harnesses to practice with. Sometimes, the person before you will snap a prop or break something, that ruins it for the remainder, again, not the clubs fault, it’s just something that happens. Smile and carry on. This is NOT a sport for the inpatient. I researched kit and equipment before deciding on a school. Dudek & Parajet are top suppliers and Simon and team rate them highly and it was one of the reasons I chose Paramotor Training Ltd. When I was ready to buy my kit, I again did the research. I’m not beholden to Simon to buy my kit from him, but after research, he was no cheaper and no more expensive than the competition. What swayed it for me was the after sales service. You CANNOT put a price on being able to ring Simon up or ask him for advice on the engine, kit, wing etc. Simon has spent a lot of time going through everything and helped me fettle and alter so the kit works perfectly and fits me like a glove. If you don’t have that relationship, then you will pay more in the long run. This is not a training facility - it’s more like a family.

Highly recommended. I chose Paramotor Training because I wanted to take my time due to work constraints, also I didn't want to rush into buying my own kit and I wasn't disappointed as neither was ever an issue. Both Colin and Simon are a really easy to get on with and they really know their stuff. Paramotor Training is not just a school, it's a family.

I am a very slow learner and it requires an ocean of patience to train me in anything, forget about flying. Simon and Colin were never impatient with me. They allowed me to learn the sport at my own pace, always genuinely welcoming with a great smile and warmth. Colin is the ground handling guru with loads of experience and advice to share. Simon is the Maestro of PPG with a shed load of flying & training experience and with a unique style of teaching that is both entertaining and enlightening at the same time. A big advantage with paramotortraining.com, apart from Simon and Colin's vast experience, is that they are there EVERY flyable day of the year, not known to be the case with most of the other flying schools. This is their full time job and passion. One would clearly see that they love and live the sport. One disadvantage with this sport is it's dependency on weather conditions... but if you want to pursue PPG sport by 'weathering that Weather away' then drive to paramotortraining.com at Membury airfield and 'fly away'. I have my own kit now (thanks to Simon for getting me a good deal on a great kit) and I am flying... If I could fly, anyone would :) Pick up the phone and...FLY...

The paramotor training instructors are very friendly and passionate people. They clearly have lots of flying experience, and they got me up and away without any issues! The main flying site is easily accessible and provides plenty of space to learn. Once you have completed your training or doesn't end there, the Paramotor Club brings together other paramotorists, and organises fly in events which have an awesome atmosphere!

Learning to fly ? Step right this way. Paramotor Training at Membury airfield near Swindon is your one stop shop to get into this exciting sport. I opted for a year long course and found it ideal as I could just rock up at any point and carry on with my training where i left off. No pressure whatsoever apart from that of the seat board lifting me off the ground. The instructors Simon and Collin are just constantly dropping knowledge on you along with helpful hacks on ground handling & airmanship.to keep you safe at all times. You will also learn about the equipment and working with a 2 stroke engine and understanding the ins & outs of a spinning propeller on your back... NEVER START IT ON THE GROUND I bought my equipment through the school and got a great discount on the same gear I learnt to fly with. Apart from learning this new skill which will inevitably be with me for the rest of my days, I have also made a lot of friends from all walks of life, who like me had a dream...wished they could fly. Your training will also involve membership into the club and will give you FREE access to any of the club fly Ins throughout the year. I highly recommend your attendance to these meets as it will open your mind to this new found freedom. Besides that you may just get treated to one of Simons spectacular Fireworks displays. That in itself was something else. Big thank you to Simon & Collin and all the other guys who are experienced who help at the school and helped me along with my training. Big Vern
