My daughters had been ridding in this school for two years before we moved to Wellington last Oct .At that time there was a covid positive case in my daughter's class we did not even know who she or he was the little one was told to self isolate herself for 10 days (yes the NHS rule at that time was still 10 days )until midnight of Sat.I had a wrong understanding of midnight I thought it's 00:00am Sat so I took my daughters to the school about noon thinking the isolation was over .One of the girls lead the horse of my five years old came back from a walk ,shouted at me rudely and loudly that I should not bring her to the school ,in front of my five years old .Later I reported this case to the owner, and requested this girl not to lead my daughter's horse again in the future. The owner didn't think it's a big issue and just tried to speak for her staff .She even didn't make the girl to apologize.Soon I changed to Wellington horse ridding. And now we have been with Wellington for about 9 months ,I would say I must thank the rude girl otherwise I will be still wasting my money at Palmers riding .At Palmers ,the staff said my little one was too young to join a group so they could only offer her horse walk lessons .But once we changed to Wellington they gave her a private lesson to access her level and found she was actually able to control a horse by herself then soon put her into the level 1 group lesson. Now she is already level 3 in Wellington school. There is no accessment or upgrade in Palmers ,my elder one had been in a same group for more than one year .Nobody came to tell us how she was doing ,if she needed to be upgraded to next level.Price wise,I paid about 21ish pounds(because they said one hour lesson was not available) for half an hour at Palmers and 49 at Wellington for one hour .I would say don't just compare the price,it's totally a waste of money and time if your school doesn't care about you.My girls are now very happy with Wellington, both of them have their favorite horses and teachers .And I am quite clear which levels they are now.For all these we have today I would thank the girl and owner at Palmers ,you opened a new world for us and let us know what a good ridding school should be like.

Brilliant stables. Have been riding here a couple of years now and I've been so impressed. I've ridden at a range of schools and kept my pony on livery at a few yards, and Palmers is by far the best stables I've found. The staff have the most equine-centred attitude I've come across - the horses live out in a herd environment, and are brought into a loose box shortly before they're needed, and tacked up at the last minute (other stables bring horses in early, tie up and tack up hours in advance) and unless they're needed shortly after horses are turned out after being ridden. Older horses are worked according to their ability and no more, and then kept in honourable retirement. I'm really comfortable riding there. Also, they have a great range of horses and ponies, from 'typical' riding school to much more challenging and responsive. Plus, the hacking is gorgeous - an hour's hack can offer a multitude of possibilities (all with several canters) through beautiful countryside. The outdoor school is decent (one long side can get quite wet after a lot of heavy rain but riding an inner track isn't hard) and there are plenty of blocks and poles available. Cannot recommend highly enough.
