I like a challenge but at the tender age of 70 plus I have had more than my fair share of them .If it were not for the bright and cheerful Yvonne Sanderson being very clear in her structures, explanations, weekly notes and encouragement ,I might well have thrown the towel in.I am having one lesson a week ,which is sufficient to make good progress. Our study is based on a well-organized textbook and she goes beyond it by helping me have conversations in German and teaches new grammars as they arise. I have been having on line lessons with Yvonne for a year. I wanted to improve my German in order to be able to communicate better with my husband's German family. Yvonne has been really good in understanding what I need out of the lessons. Although she always weaves in grammar she has really focused alot on helping me build confidence and skills in conversation. Her lessons are fun and interesting with a good mixture of working through the structure of a text book and then having free form conversation . She keeps a notes of the grammar and new vocabulary we have covered in the lessons and emails me that afterwards which is very useful. She is super flexible so the timing and pace of the lessons can fit round me. I feel that I have learnt alot and that she is always encouraging and makes lessons enjoyable.

Yvonne at Oxford German Lessons is a fantastic teacher. The online classes are small (usually 4) and that means we all have a good amount of time to spend doing the class exercises. Yvonne supplements the standard/structured material with her own experiences/exercises which is great! The classes are relaxed and Yvonne is happy to answer all questions as they arise. Yvonne shares a word document on the screen to offer structure to our learning, and then sends us the notes and the class recording afterwards for our own personal revision. I was skeptical about an online class, but it is so convenient and absolutely great!

She has a very structured way to teach and she pays attention to details, caring about finding the best way and rhythm to nicely challenge and motivate us.
