Attended Oxford Eye hospital today. Was there for the whole day having different tests and scans. There should have been 4 doctors today but there were only 2. I was very impressed indeed with the professional care and consideration I was given during my visit. All the procedures I had were clearly and carefully explained to me The nurses, doctors and techicians were all amazing. Thank you Oxford Eye hospital.

Took a legally blind friend in for an appointment. I parked way around back with their blue badge. We waited 3 hours to see the doctor, who was new to them. The new doctor had not done a chart review as noted by his question, "so, is your vision problem affecting your life?" He did not know the extent of her problem, like cannot read the top line of an eye chart. He declined to answer questions that were important. He did not apologize for the wait. So, now we go back next week to see a consultant and start this all over??

Visited optician on Saturday with blurred vision. Referred to Eye Hospital and got appointment on Tuesday. Doctor I saw said he needed to consult because he wasn’t familiar with my presenting symptoms. This he did and had further appt on Wednesday, just four days after my referral by optician…. They had figured it out by then and I had laser treatment whilst at the appointment. Am soooo impressed by the speed and efficiency of the eye Hospital in resolving this problem and to Georgio Contas(?) and John Salmon for their care.

Eye department is the most worst in JR hospital. Doctors and nurses whom I have been dealing unfortunately they are disgusting and don’t have proper knowledge. I have always most nicest experience in JR but yesterday I was literally disappointing for the behaviour of the doctors and nurses in eye department. But the gentleman who has done my eye scanning he is really nice. One nurse who had charged to explain the eye drops she is really awful. Hopefully need some nice people like other departments

Take my elderly Dad here regularly. A long process but all staff are so efficient and patient with him. Great treatment. Maybe if older patients could have priority it would be good? (100 years old).

How can you fault such a fantastic team. They all go above and beyond the call of duty. I had a detached retina and didn't get the op until 10:20 at night after waiting all day because they were so so busy and they had unforeseen issues earlier...BUT I GOT IT!!!!. Without their dedication and planning I would have gone blind in that eye. I can't thank them enough from my initial consultant Prof Robert MacLaren to the surgeon Mr Imran Yusaf who was also absolutely brilliant....calm....and put you at ease even before the procedure. These unsung heroes enrich people's lives through their skill and sometimes perhaps don't get the credit due. Thank you personally to all of the team I met with that day. Very professional.

Waiting time is sooooo long. My average time here is now 4 hours per appointment, usually more than 5 but one lucky time was only 2 1/2 hours.
