We visited in June 2022, this was our second visit and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We booked 2 pitches and the owner could not have been more accommodating. Situating us further away from the road as per my request and setting the pitches next to each other. Myself and my friend who have been two years in a row, would like to state that the negative review placed by the other party does not in anyway reflect our experience and as such felt it only right to add a review to reflect the place. I’m just sorry it has taken me til now to put the review up. There are some things that we do agree on… THE SET UP FOR CAMPERS AND THEIR DOGS IS LOVELY. THE PITCHES WERE SPACIOUS AND THE FACILITIES WERE SECOND TO NONE. I found the owner to be very welcoming. Paula has rules and quite rightly they should be respected and followed. The facilities are lovely, clean showers and toilet blocks. Wash up facilities as well as kitchen with a fridge. Shower room for the dogs too. The place is a lovely safe haven were dogs can be off lead and having an absolute ball! The site benefits from having a stream where the dogs can cool down and play. A lovely secure field with agility apparatus. Myself and my friend who have been before would love to be able to stay again. We only hope the negative review placed by the other party in our booking has not prevented this. Paula does walk around and check the site with her dog but this is to ensure it stays nice for everyone and the dogs. Gem is a friendly dog and doesn’t upset every dog as stated in the other review. We had some fantastically hot weather. Malton seems to benefit from being to the East and in “Gods own country” The last morning we did take quite some time to pack up and leave, apologies if there was any mess left. I certainly did not see anything left behind and in fact was saddened to see the response to the negative review in respect of this. I hold my hands up and say that error in judgement regarding putting hot coals from the BBQ from the evening before into a plastic bag was not my most genius of moments and had mentioned not wanting to put them in the skip so as not to start a fire. So did with agreement leave the bag on top of an old BBQ at the side of the skip with the owners permission. Note to self next time I’ll be aware that due to extreme heat (summer) coals will take longer to cool. I don’t even mind so much that wasn’t able to have a shower. Just need to be more organised next time.

We have just returned home from two weeks at this site, our second visit and hopefully not our last. It's ideally situated with a nature reserve 10 minutes drive away, Morrisons and Mcdonalds opposite the nature reserve, also a vets near Morrisons should you need one. Scarborough and Filey with lovely beaches about 20 minutes away. The site itself has a large field for the dogs to run round in, a small stream with was really handy during the heatwave we just had and an agility course, there is also a room for you to wash your dog and a lounge with toys for the dogs. The toilets and showers were immaculate. The village itself is small but has a really nice sandwich and cake shop, a pub and a takeaway that delivers to the site. The owner Paula and her lovely German Shepherd dog Gem make you feel welcome and are on hand should you need anything. Most important our dog had a great time.

What a lovely set up for both the campers and their pet dogs. The pitches were spacious and the facilities were second to none. However we will not be returning due to the unwelcoming attitude of the elderly lady who walks round , unsmiling and made us feel like trespassers rather than paid guests, inspecting the site twice a day, with her poor Alsatian, who’s only purpose was to upset each and every dog on the campsite as it entered their territory! We sat and watched in amazement as all the dogs started barking as they went by. We had the hottest 3 days this year there last week. The last morning was marred by the fact I got up early and packed everything away before 11.00. I was sweaty ,dirty and hot so attempted to go for a shower, before I had the long drive home. The elderly lady and her assistant were cleaning the gents so I said politely I’ll wait outside. The elderly lady came out to me at 11.05 and told me I can not come in as I HAVE to be off the site by 11.30. I’m 67 myself and quite capable of showering myself in 10 mins! I was a very successful GP for 35 years and used to dealing with all walks of life, but this lady is rude, abrasive and extremely unhelpful, and I am not at all surprised that the campsite was quite empty. This is the first time in my life that I have ever had to send a negative review, but someone needs to tell her! What a shame, because we all enjoyed the camping and facilities including the dogs!

Great dog off lead camping site. DO NOT come here if you don't want other dogs popping over to say hi or trying to nick a sausage.

We took our two Cocapoos here for a long weekend. Toilets, showers and hook up so great for tents as well as campervans/caravans. It's off the A64 main road so ok for bigger units and easy to find. Large level pitches on sand so not muddy. It costs us £28 per night plus metered electric which was very reasonableat around £2.50 per night with occasional use of heating. No need for dog leads here which is great but can also require work to keep an eye on yours and other peoples dogs. The dogs loved it especially on the big field near the stream. Right outside we took the Coastliner bus straight to Scarborough seafront dog friendly in parts beach. Tee return ticket is £9, takes half hour each way and dogs go free, This was a good day out. Most nights we had BBQ which was great but with extra care not to have sausages snaffled or burn noses. Fire pits are also allowed. One night we had a takeaway pizza and Parma delivered from the pub which is 0.3 miles away which was nice. The same pub allows dogs in part of the pub on a lead. I think it's called The East Riding. There is some dog noise, that's only to be expected but it wasn't a problem. We are looking forward to booking again and will probably go here a few times again each year.
