    Hired a car for two months which came in bad condition/ and various scratches all over (2010 plate). On collection of the car the company claimed there were a lot of new scratches and cosmetic damages to the car that were not previously there, and how the previous Owner had damaged the car and they dons a paint job before renting it out to myself. had a discussion with management who said they would send pictures of the car just before it was rented to me, this never happened and consequently took 400 pounds from my account without any further discussion despite what was discussed over the phone

    Given my recent disappointing experience with national rental companies, I decided to look more locally and found Osborn's of Chelmsford. I wasn't sure whether to award 4 or 5 stars, but considering they did everything I needed, the pick-up/drop-off went without hitch, the car was fine, and the contact was courteous, I decided to go with 5. The car had a few years on it, but I'm not concerned about that provided it is in reasonable condition and reliable; which it was. So I wish Osborn's well and shall hopefully hire with them again in the future. I guess the only constant negative is the closure from Saturday midday until Monday am, so weekend flights might be a challenge. For me, I arranged for a drop-off near the bus station and just took the shuttle to Stansted.

    I have hired cars from Osborn repeatedly and over many years. I have not been disappointed. The drop off and pick up service is something that is costly with other car hire businesses. But something that is not taken forgranted with Osborn cars, also flexibility too. I will continue to use them as I have not had an issue. Even with last minute bookings. I will continue to use them.
