The property that we booked 6 months ago was just cancelled on us. The booking was for an event, so we had to scrabble around for another property. After performing a property search by available dates on the website, I was told that most of the properties had a Saturday check in date (we needed to check in on the Friday). So why provide search results based on a Friday check in? All other options provided were much more expensive. I asked for a discount, on the basis of our original property being cancelled by the owners, and was told that only some of the properties provided discounts (which were available to anyone via the website if they were available). The upshot of this: we were massively inconvenienced, and there was no gesture or customer retention offer to reflect this by means of compensation. Another classic example of zero customer care. Will never use again.

Booked a cottage at the barn pwllheli, snowdonia & the llyn peninsula and the owners Suzanne and Simon were absolutely unbearable. Made a complaint and the complaints team did nothing at all. It was the worst week I've ever had on holiday because of constant prying from the owners. They even had the audacity to ask if I had mental health issues?! Then denied it when I reported them! They knocked the door more than 7 times for no reason at all. The electricity went off half way through the holiday and then lied and said they knocked the door to be let in to fix the issue.. they didn't. This is just a snip of the whole stay! If you like to be bothered by nosey busybodies with nothing else to do except bother their guests, then this is the place for you. Terrible pair of liars.

As a party of eight we stayed for a week which included the Easter weekend. It was a lovely place for my wife and I to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The house is very spacious and comfortable. It is well furnished and has everything you need for a break. We aged from three to seventy and appreciated the ample number of bathrooms and bedrooms to ensure we had a good family trip but with enough room for us all to have our own space and privacy. The furnishings are comfy and the kitchen has all of the utensils you could need. The house is literally a couple of minutes walk from the beach and from the town. There are plenty of pubs, shops, restaurants etc right on your doorstep. Driving to other interesting places in Norfolk is very convenient from Sheringham. The only real drawback is parking. Street parking spaces are very limited. There is a public carpark opposite, however, for which you can get a weekly pass which doesn't work out too expensive. All in all this is a place we would recommend to any large group wanting to spend time by the sea.

Corner Barn Norfolk Broads, North Burlingham. Very disappointed. Booked a 5 night stay at Corner Barn but only stayed 4 nights as we couldn’t stand it any longer. On entering the Barn we were hit with a damp musty smell, the place was very cold and the only form of heat was a small wall mounted electric heater and a small mobile convector heater. Bedroom is very cramped with limited storage, you can’t even stand up straight either side of the bed, even the bedding felt damp.We took our small dog on holiday with us as the property was advertised as having an enclosed rear garden, but this is just a small gravelled area with a wire mesh fence, on numerous occasions we were pestered by the neighbours large dog so couldn’t even let our dog out . Would definitely not stay here again. Feel very let down.

Booked Lyn Cottage in Lynton through Original Cottages. The cottage was filthy, riddled with damp & infested with lice (I have over 30 photos as proof). I don’t believe this property is currently not fit to be let. Original Cottages excused themselves from any accountability. The owner made an attempt at compensation that left a lot to be desired. I strongly suggest if you’re considering booking with Original Cottages (or this property) you seek assurances it’s habitable.

As an owner of a property I have had 2 occasions in 20 years ,both recently, when I have needed to contact my homeowner representative urgently, over a weekend and out of office hours.The assistance is zero...no response, not even an emergency telephone number....not one that has a person at the other end anyway.I recently had an unpredicted plumbing problem,if the emergency plumber couldn't solve might have meant moving my guests out. After 4 phone calls and 4 emails and 4 days later, I have had no response at all.If you have an out of hours emergency there is no help available, useless.

Awful customer service. A able to attend a break due to illness and the agent I spoke to couldn't care less. Was unwilling to contact the owner and see if we could rebook or get any kind of discount. Wouldn't recommend and certainly won't use again.

Stayed at ivy cottages in Bradley and the electric went due to shoddy work on the premises, no water no heating for 2 days! Spoke to original cottages about a refund and they refused point blank, will never use them again!
