We took a group of 10 to Orasay for lunch in the private room on May 11th. We opted to go for the £90 tasting menu and selected wines ad hoc as required. Service was slow and stretched, with only one lady assigned to our group. The private dining room is a lovely space just off the kitchen but the table is oval meaning that when seated the servers cannot reach half the guests and require you to pass the plates around and clear the plates afterwards. The menu was appealing on paper but in reality it was poorly executed. The starters which were intended to share (like the entire menu) were really stretched - each person got 1 x prawn, 1 x oyster, 1 x scallop etc. so it felt a bit stingy for a menu costing £90 a head (not including wine). It felt like they were getting their margins back on our group and skimping on the meal. The starter flavours were good, but then it was mainly shellfish, salads and prawns, so not much in the way of technical execution or finesse. The main course took a long time to arrive and they sent one entire tail of monkfish to the table which was visually cool but hadnt been prepared at all so one of us had to actually fillet it on the table and cut it up (off the bone)! They then sent two Cotes De Boeuf to share between 10. These were roughly 1kg each so actually quite small when youu consider the bone and excess fat and each person got one thin slice. Again, this was very stingy and those who went last got left with the fattiest ends of the rib steak and not the nice fleshy centers of it. This was accompanied by lots of salads, boiled and roasted potatoes and a couple of OK sauces (beurre blanc and a kind of chimmi churi option). Lots of leaves, very little steak and a whole Monkfish tail. Wine list is confusing, it is mixed up with new and old world wines along with surprise natural wines throughout to confuse you. Very expensive for what the wines were and the waitress knew very little about the list. Cheapest wine was £65 rising to an average of £80ish and many well over that. Not a terribly well thought out list. Overall the experience was very underwhelming, food was average and service was pleasant but stretched and inexperienced. For 10 people including tip we paid £1500. We wouldnt go back.

I can not believe this restaurant is real. The food was absolutely incredible! I will admit, checking in was a bit hectic & think that process could be smoother. Overall our meal was pure magic. Deborah was our waitress & she is by far the best. She did an excellent job of recommending the right dishes to get and the proper portions. Ultimately, the stand out star was the crab pasta! Oh my goodness it is is delectable. Wow. After 3 appetizers & 2 mains, we ended up getting all three desserts! I highly recommend this. We had no regrets with the portion sizes or trying everything. @Deborah, you did an excellent job of making this an absolute superb experience. Your patience and pure joy made this five star dining❤️

One of the best restaurants I’ve been to lately. Beautifully cooked modern European food with seasonal and sustainable ingredients. The atmosphere was nice, the staff were really nice and attentive and the food was superb. The John Dory and the potato bread with whipped cod’s roe were definitely the stars of the show! Highly recommend visiting
