    The most frustrating lawyers I have ever worked with. Their website is hard to navigate, they send automated emails you can’t reply to with no contact details, no login details and incorrect requests. You can never speak to a human being. They are a factory. Avoid!

    If I could give this company negative stars I would. I was sent a cheque in January but with the incorrect name. I have then spent the last 3 months chasing this cheque be re-sent to the correct name. I have spoken to 10 plus customer service agents who are always useless. Avoid avoid avoid this company at all costs, they are scammers.

    A horrible, horrible company who repeatedly made mistakes - and continue to make them - for our remortgage. We did not choose to use them but were automatically assigned them by the lender Halifax. Optima take no accountability for their mistakes and do not seem to care at all how much stress and grief they cause. No one responds to requests for updates, no flexibility or help is given. We will be making complaints.

    Do not under any circumstances use Optima Legal. Their lack of communication will leave you incredibly frustrated as they make even the simplest of cases an arduous journey. It's impossible to speak to anyone on the phone, their tracking portal is clunky, and messaging Optima is slow and like talking to a brick wall. Save yourself weeks of annoyance by going to a decent conveyancer.

    Sadly I agree with all the other previous reviews - in hindsight I should have insisted on using somebody else. Took weeks and weeks of calling, emails and general time wasting before we got our completion date set. They have taken a really exciting time for my partner and myself and turned it into a really stressful and frustrating experience. Avoid at all costs - there would be on stars if I could help it.

    Not possible to leave 0 stars sadly. I am not sure how I ended up being enrolled into their services vis a vis a remortgage situation. Sadly I believe you get what you pay for. I was undertaking a remortgage set to complete, which however was delayed due to incomplete documentaiton, which was only noticed on the day of completion. At the same time they managed to open another mortgage which was accuring interest prior to completion. When queried a series of round about passing the buck occurs, in the meanwhile leaving me with interest charges. I would 100% avoid at all costs.

    We’ve had the worst experience with Optima and so glad to finally close this chapter so that hopefully we never ever have to deal with Optima again. Wish I could give no stars because 1 star seems kind. None of the process was easy or helpful, we were expected to do everything and on their awful portal, which is clunky and hard to use. With documents, there’s no ‘other’ field for those files that don’t fall under one of the defined categories. With messages, it’s hard to find where a new message is or how to respond to the one just received. None of the process was done in a timely manner, I was constantly having to chase where things were at, what’s being done, what’s missing (sometimes things were still left listed as missing even when they were uploaded days/weeks ago) and even for forms we were expected to fill out but not even given. This resulted in us completing literally on the last day before expiry and that’s because I chased constantly. If left with Optima, I don’t think we’d have completed. The lack of responsibility with no assigned case manager, meant that getting hold of someone was difficult because I’d have to call and repeat situations to each person I spoke to. The final completion was the icing on the cake of awfulness. We were delayed due to a technical issue with Optima. However I’d expect SLAs in place to have things back up running within a given period so shouldn’t have caused a delay. During the completion call, no one went through the shortfall with me. I had to piece it together and when I finally was able to, none of the figures matched. Took me a while to speak to someone about those issues but even then they didn’t do anything to rectify the issues and that led to things still being unresolved for completion. The issues were because Optima requested a redemption statement too early. The expected response time on the system for our current lender is 7 days so should have been requested 7 days before expected completion for accuracy. But these failings meant we had to overpay by a couple of £000s. All of the service was just awful. Nothing was done on time. All of the process was more stressful than it had to be, particularly completion. People I spoke to kept having to say sorry for mistakes but that nothing could be done. I just had to ‘accept’ the mistakes in order to complete and now I have to follow up with the overpayment. I feel for anyone who has to use them. If it’s a choice, stay away!
