My experience started off very pleasant, I had my consultation at my preferred Bournemouth branch (This was one of the main reasons for choosing optical express over competitors in Southampton). They made everything clear and explained what would happen on the day of the procedure and made me feel at ease. Had my procedure at the Southampton branch, as they don’t do the procedure at Bournemouth. My procedure went smoothly and went into post op to be talked through my aftercare. The person that spoke to me didn’t seem to sure of all the details and said ‘I don’t think I’ve left anything out’ (reassuring!). He then checked with me about my follow up appointment the next day. He said it was 9 o’clock in the morning in Southampton- I said that this was not possible as I can’t get to Southampton and at my consultation they had made it clear that I should be able to have all my follow up appointments in Bournemouth (I live in Christchurch and don’t have a car and have a small child to look after. One of the main reasons I went with Optical Express was the distance to my nearest branch). He then said ‘that’s no problem, I’ll get that changed for you’. He said no more and I went on my way. The following day, I turned up at Bournemouth to be told they were not even open on that day and I would need to go to Southampton that day for my appointment! My husband managed to clear his diary (had to cancel an important meeting) to take me to Southampton. Had to take my toddler with us to. It was very stressful, not what you need after eye surgery!! They were very apologetic when I got there, but it caused a lot of unnecessary stress. If you want your laser eye surgery at Southampton and all the following appointments there, then it’s fine. However, if you want following appointments at Bournemouth then be aware that it’ll pretty unlikely you’ll get an appointment as they never have availability there. I haven’t managed to get any of my follow up appointments where I need them.

HAD LENSE REPLACEMENT FEB ... NOTHING WENT RIGHT. THEY TOOK MY 700O POUNDS AND SINCE THEN NOT BOTHERED.... MY VISION IS WORSE MY EYES ARE SORE ....WHEN I GET UPSET THEY TELL ME IM AGGRESSIVE.... THEY LIED TO ME FROM THE BEGINNING. ONCE THEY GET YOUR MONEY THEY DONT CARE... I THEN GET THIS DEMAND LETTER

Excellent service and what a difference in my eyesight, had a very bad cataract in my left eye and the beginning of another in my right eye, went in for lens replacement very quick and painless procedure. Cant recommend highly enough, well worth the cost. Just had my final eye check up and all good so i am now discharged, Thanks again Optical express

I went into Optical Express for a consultation for laser eye surgery and found the staff working there very friendly. There was no pushy sales speech. I had many questions and I felt those were answered very well for me. I didn't go ahead with the laser eye surgery currently but due to their professionalism I wouldn't hesitate in going back if my circumstances were different.
