On Monday 13th March 2023 I went to Optegra Eye Clinic to have my assessment for cataract surgery, all went well that day was told could be up to 4 weeks before I get it done, in the afternoon I got a phone call telling me that they had a cancellation the next day and if I would like to come in and have mine done, so off I went the next morning happy to get it done so quick, got to reception filled out all the necessary paper work was told to go and take a seat before I even sat down one of the reception ladies called me and come with me, I was taken upstairs to the prep room, a member of staff soon came over with a tray and started to put the eye drops into my eye, this went on for a short while, then the surgeon came out and introduced himself and told me he was going to do the surgery on my eye, not long after that I was taken inside and my eye was seen to, within an hour and a half of getting there I was back home and resting. From the first day of the assessment the staff at Reception were wonderful the prep team upstairs before the surgery could not fault them and the after care lady all great. The days after my surgery all going very well, what a great health care team and clinic. Kenneth Johnson

My 85 year old dad had a eye procedure today at this clinic after his treatment he obviously had trouble seeing. While waiting in the reception area for my brother to collect him, the receptionist ask him to leave the premises as they had to get on with their work, why he was stopping them doing that I haven't a clue. To try and send a elderly man out with no assistance is a clear act of negligence from your clinic. I'm very disappointed that my father had to deal with this today.

My wife has now had cateract surgery here on both eyes about a year apart . The whole experience from initial consult . surgery to follow up has been nothing short of fantastic . Everything appointment was on time ,with the total time taken well within the forecast expected time. I was chauffer and waited outside due to COVID but not long . Both ops were a real success with only a little smarting when the drops are put in with a great improvement in vision from day one ,and they also arranged to have the follow up at a sight local to us to save the 1.5 HR trip to North London . All in all a first class experience from start to finish . Ps there's a mackyd just nearby for a snack when waiting and I suggest u access from the north to avoid congestion charge and it's quicker

I was referred by Boots opticians for cataract surgery. I had my consultation today. Initially I was seen by a very nice consultant from Hampshire who began explaining what was on offer only to be rudely interrupted by his Colindale colleague who basically told me NHS surgery was not going to offer me much more than cataract removal and that private surgery at a cost of £7000 would be better. When i said I didn’t have that sort of money he lost interest. Rude man who seemed only interested in selling private operations. I’m disgusted by this service and will be asking to go on the NHS waiting list rather than deal with these awful people (excluding the nice man from Hampshire). I don’t mind waiting for decency.

Have been waiting for them to get in touch for nearly two weeks. Just waited on the phone for an hour in a queue of 20 people, just to finally get to their voicemail! Optrgra in dire need for customer service improvements.

Really. Just don't bother. I'm due a procedure but after trying to get through 6 times to discuss my procedure ...I waited an hour only for the line to click off. Don't reply to e mails. I know of no health centre that doesn't take calls. This place is mired in unproffesionalism and chaos. I'm joining the NHS waiting list. May be longer but hey I am talking about my eye. I'm pursuing a complaint through the NHS. I encourage anyone else going through this to do the same. Typical greedy corporation. Big on promises. Small on delivery.

What a terrible place to deal with. After my mum's cataract surgery, she developed problems. You cannot get through on the phone and the voicemail box is full. Email them and you don't get a response. She has had no aftercare for this even though it was nearly two months ago. The problem resolved itself after a painful 3 weeks. The opticians that referred her stated that they have had so many problems they have now stopped using their services. Very dissatisfied. Would not like my mum to have any more dealings with them

Very poor that the registered carer for my 87 year old mother was turned away at the entrance to the Colindale site despite Optegra staff being advised that my mother was a highly nervous individual with very poor hearing who needed assistance. No reason given apart from a senior manager having made the decision with Optegra staff having queried it apparently we were told. Previous visit incident free with carer allowed to sit in reception , not busy in reception then or today. Very poor customer care.
