If you are thinking of lens replacement with Optegra think long and hard before committing to it. I had both eyes done 3 years ago and have had nothing but trouble. The first 6 months after the op I was back and forth to Optegra with sore eyes and blurred vision.Night driving is impossible with the glare of headlights and street lights (this is called the halo effect) I paid nearly £7000 for this procedure.I went to see an optician in May out of desperation and was told I had frosting on the lens and was referred back to Optegra for treatment. I was told by Optegra it would cost £250 to see a consultant again Or wait on the nhs waiting list. I was told someone would be in touch within 6 weeks that was 16 weeks ago and I’ve heard nothing from them. ItI seems the after care is poor, once they have your money they are no bothered about you as a patient.

Had lens replacement 5 yrs ago, had my right eye done on the Wednesday , " brilliant " went smoothly, left eye done on the Friday, throughout the procedure the doctor (same doctor) was agitated saying he " just couldn't quite , was quite vocal he just couldn't quite get the desired reach???". Following this, I had and still do have a continued irritation in this eye like I have something in my eye I cannot see clear in this , the vision in it as since always been quite blurred and continually irrating I did see this doctor regarding this, he took me into a room to looked into mu eye, but got extremely cross because, each time he asked me to lean forward the table was MOVING forward He had the audacity to blame me for not knowing how to Lock the unit. He then said we needed to try to lazer the eye at local hospital, upon this appointment again I was blamed by this intelligent Dr for the table I was asked to lean on moving, cause every time as before when he said plaice your forehead here and lean forward the whole unit moved, he was quite angry and extremely intimidating, so when it's has its problems with what could be sorted out quite simply!! Don't complain because it will be your fault the table moves. Just to add this eyes is still not right, but who can afford to keep paying gor a"specialists" opinion

Avoid if you care about your eyesight I have been in a lot of pain since having a cataract operation and asked for advice from the Optegra clinic They said excruciating pain it is to be expected. They admitted giving incorrect advice regarding eye drops. Many months later am now still suffering pain and have worse vision than before the procedure

20 minute opperation. I had eye drops in to numb the eye and it was over in no time. My sight is great and only need reading glasses now instead of varifocals. Thankyou
